Successful candidates will support the implementation of U.S. government energy research, development, and deployment (RD&D) programs focused on energy security including generation, transmission, critical materials, and manufacturing technologies.\nWhat you will be doing:\nProviding technical assistance on a variety of topics including:\nEvaluating possible energy or water savings.\nEvaluating technical and commercial project viability.\nConducting technical, energy, environmental, and economic benefits analyses.\nPerforming market and technology assessments.\nProviding financing and innovation assessments.\nMonitoring project construction and operations.\nSupporting all phases of U.S. government program or project management, from project inception to closeout.\nSynthesizing and analyzing energy technology R&D project and program information.\nDeveloping technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings)\nPreparing, reviewing, and analyzing technical reports and assessments.\nConducting internet and literature research and maintaining awareness of current relevant technological innovations.\nEngaging and communicating with internal and external program stakeholder groups, including understanding stakeholder group needs, priorities, and issues.\nConducting research and analysis of power generation, grid and transmission infrastructure reliability, critical materials, and manufacturing supply chain programs and policies\nMinimum qualifications:\nMaster’s degree in mechanical, materials, chemical, or other relevant engineering discipline.\n5+ years of relevant technical expertise in one or more of the following industries/sectors:\nProject and construction monitoring experience.\nProject or corporate financial deals for critical materials production and processing; energy materials supply chains; coal, oil, and gas; sustainable aviation fuels; and/or gasification.\nUtility deals for transmission; power generation (including nuclear, coal, hydro, geothermal, gas pipeline, solar); infrastructure retooling or upgrade; and/or battery energy storage system (BESS).\nPreferred qualifications:\n8+ years of relevant technical expertise in one or more of the industries/sectors listed in “minimum qualifications” above. Project and construction monitoring experience.\nStrong understanding of critical mineral supply chain risks and resilience strategies, and the intersection with energy technology, manufacturing, and national security objectives. \nDemonstrated interest and/or experience in energy technology, energy security, or production and manufacturing in related areas.\nExcellent project and program management skills.\nExperience engaging and communicating with internal and external program stakeholder groups, including understanding stakeholder group needs, priorities, and issues.\nExperience with client-facing consulting roles.\nHigh level of interest in support of U.S. government energy programs.\nExperience working with U.S. federal government agencies.\nBot and Third-Party Applications\nPlease note that this application must be submitted directly by the applicant for consideration.
