Description\nThe Role\nWork as part of the Electrical Services team to ensure the safe and effective operation of the shafts and skipping systems as operational requirements dictate.\nThe Responsibilities\nSafety\nFollowing all relevant rules and procedures\nAttending Toolbox talks delivered by Foreman\nFollowing risk assessments, COSHH assessments and method statements where required\nUnderstanding, following and implementing their part in emergency procedures\nEnsuring risk assessments and method statements are suitable and used for tasks being undertaken\nPlanning\nEnsuring risk assessments and method statements are suitable and used for tasks being undertaken\nPlanning, risk assessing and executing workload as necessary\nDecision Making & Problem Solving\nMake informed decisions associated with hazard identification and risk management to ensure safe working\nPrioritise tasks after discussion with supervisor to ensure maintenance objectives are achieved\nUsing judgement and experience to manage incidents and problems\nOperational Tasks\nSafely and effectively operate the shafts and skipping systems as operational requirements dictate\nLiaise with the maintenance department on compliance testing and inspection\nCommunication\nReporting to Foremen on all aspects of their activities\nLiaising with other ICL Boulby winder personnel and contractors\nLiaising with supervisors to understand all aspects of the daily maintenance activity\nInformation Management\nInterpreting and acting upon information given by way of oral/written communication, technical manuals, method statements and risk assessments and previous work reports\nUtilising all such information for the effective implementation of the maintenance workload\nThe Requirements\nExperience & Knowledge\nExperience of the underground operation\nExperience of shafts and winding engines would be advantageous\nQualifications / Certifications\nLevel 2 Skills for Life or GCSE equivalent (Numeracy, Literacy, ITQ)\nRisk assessment training\nEffective communication
