What will I get to do in this position?\nRun analysis per controlled laboratory methods: raw material, in process, finished product, special samples, extra testing, etc. as assigned by manager.\nPerform, document and verify required calibrations; monitor control charts.\nCommunicate out-of-spec results to Quality Manager and plant.\nRequest maintenance as needed; maintain service records.\nRead, understand and follow all laboratory standard operating procedures.\nComplete chain of custody requirements.\nDocument sample identity in laboratory hard copy records.\nRetain files and samples per laboratory requirements.\nDocument analytical and microbiological results in hard copy records and SAP. Approve analysis (as appropriate) in SAP.\nParticipate and support the EHS process: special sampling, perform safety checks, properly clean lab spills, properly dispose of samples, etc.\nAttend monthly safety meetings, toolbox meetings, etc. \nComplete all required training in a timely manner.\nAssess laboratory hazards and communicate to management. \nMaintain/clean laboratory equipment in main lab and satellite labs.\nMaintain/monitor calibration supplies.\nCommunicate status/results via shift notes, Excel, email, phone as required.\nPrepare certificate of analysis (CA) as required.\nPrepare customer product samples on shipments as required. \nAssist, Research, maintenance, and plant personnel as necessary.\nParticipate in ISO/FSSC/customer/supplier/regulatory audits as necessary. \nContact necessary plant management and governmental agencies as required. \nRespond to plant emergencies; provide first aid; summon medical professionals.\nDocument all injuries/incidents and communicate to appropriate plant personnel.\nAssist in updating and developing laboratory methods and procedures; evaluating new instruments; etc.\nAssist in training of lab personnel.\nDocument and investigate non-conforming product and customer complaints.\nWhat skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?\nHigh School Diploma or GED required\nAssociates or bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or related field; and/or minimum 3 years' experience as a Laboratory Technician.\nGreat interpersonal skills. Emphasis on positivity and teambuilding. Clear communicator.\nHighly organized.\nVery high attention to detail.\nAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment.\nAble to learn new analysis/techniques as required.\nProficient in learning and operating analytical instrument software. \nProficient in Microsoft applications.\nProficient in analytical and microbiological techniques.\nWhat will set me apart?\nPreferred Technologies: Inductively Coupled Plasma with Mass Spectrometry and Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-MS and ICP-OES); Ion Chromatography (IC); pH meters; ion selective electrodes; auto titrators/titroprocessors;\nFT-IR; UV-Vis spectroscopy; microtrac; and densitometer.\nPreferred Analyses: Assay, specific gravity, particle size distribution, moisture, pH, alkalinity, P2O5, color/turbidity, titrations, and some additional testing as required.\nPreferred knowledge of or experience in phosphate chemistry. \nPreferred knowledge on SAP, Chromeleon, Tiamo, LIMS\nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE):\nAt ICL, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace is a top priority.
