We are respected globally for the quality and innovation of our work, undertaking consultancy projects for international clients in both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.\nICON Health Economics & Epidemiology is currently seeking to appoint a Principal, Systematic Reviews/Evidence Synthesis to join its global team. This team is highly respected in the field of health economics, and epidemiology for quality and innovation, undertaking consultancy projects for international clients in both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.\nThe candidate will be required to support the team, in taking senior managerial responsibility for the department. In addition, the candidate recruited for this role will be expected to utilise their skills in systematic reviews and/or evidence synthesis to contribute to all aspects of the department’s work as well as supporting the development of the team globally.\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as project director and manage all aspects of systematic literature reviews (SLRs) and/or evidence synthesis (NMAs. ITCs) to ensure the quality of all deliverables meets client requirements.\n\nEstablish and maintain client relationships and take the lead with proposal development for all SLRs, targeted literature reviews (TLRs)\n\nProvide oversight of resourcing, staff development, recruitment activities, and departmental growth within the practice\n\nProvide strategic contribution and lead business development and proposal processes\n\nProvide technical mentorship to junior reviewers, identify and manage training needs and provide on the job training and support as required\n\nLead publications/scientific communications for self and department staff\n\nDirect, manage and be involved in proposal writing, project work and client liaison\n\nProvide support to the senior leadership in implementing business strategies for the practice\n\nForm part of the management team of the global practice and in the day to day management of the group\n\nDemonstrate and actively promote an open and honest working environment.\n\nTravel (approximately 15%) domestic or international.\n\nRole Requirements\nA Master’s degree or higher (PhD) in public health, health economics or a related quantitative discipline, such as operational research, medical statistics, or epidemiology or a clinical degree such as MD, PharmD\n\nExperience in designing and leading SLRs/TLRs and/or Evidence Synthesis\n\nSignificant relevant industry/ consultancy experience; where consultancy is preferred\n\nDemonstrable experience of people management\n\nDemonstrable experience of business development\n\nSignificant experience within a consulting, academic or pharmaceutical/ devices industry environment\n\nProven management experience, in particular the ability to lead a team of junior analysts\n\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team\n\nHigh self-motivation\n\nLeadership potential\n\nEmployment with ICON is contingent upon having the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.\nRewards & Benefits\nICON offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package designed to support your health, wellbeing, and career development.\nBenefits may include:\nCompetitive base salary and performance related incentives\nHealth and wellbeing programmes including medical, dental, and vision coverage where applicable\nRetirement and pension plans\nLife assurance and disability coverage\nEmployee assistance programmes and wellbeing resources\nLearning and development opportunities through structured training and career pathways\nBenefits may vary depending on role and location.\nVisit our careers site to read more about the benefits ICON offers.\nInclusion and Accessibility\nICON is an equal opportunity employer.
