The Principal Scientist ( Research Scientist) will lead and conduct scientific research aimed at advancing clinical trials and developing innovative therapies. You will manage sponsor programs, shape assay strategies, and provide expertise for new and complex modalities.\nWe are seeking candidates with strong bioanalytical method development experience and expertise in emerging biological modalities.\nWhat You Will Do:\nThe Principal Scientist (Research Scientist) is responsible for method development and validation for testing preclinical and clinical specimens using LC/MS/MS analytical methods. In addition, you will oversee transfer robust LC/MS/MS methods for biologics for bioanalytical testing.\nKey responsibilities include:\nIndependently direct development and validation of new LC/MS/MS assays using appropriate methods such as (but not limited to) Tomtec, Hamilton, Kingfisher, Integra Assist plus, etc.\nEnsure robust LC/MS/MS methods are developed for successful method validation of both small molecules, radiolabeled analytes and biologics such as proteins, peptides, ADCs, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies (mAb), etc.\nReview data presentations for accuracy and clarity prior to sharing with sponsors\nProvide support to Laboratory Operations staff regarding assay quality, expected results, troubleshooting and data review\nProvide technical input for ICON Marketing collateral, attend conferences, publish papers in the peer-reviewed literature\nDrive new business by consulting with sponsors on assay requirements for new projects\nCollaborate with inter-departmental functions to write and review validation plans, reports and SOP’s\nLead assay transfers to other ICON lab locations\nYour Profile:\nRequired qualifications and experience:\nPhD or equivalent degree in a relevant scientific field such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or clinical research.\nMS degrees considered with proven LC/MS/MS method development experience in the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.\nExperience with some or all of the following: radiolabeled analytes and biologics such as proteins, peptides, ADCs, oligonucleotides, monoclonal antibodies (mAb), etc.\nExperience in conducting research within the clinical or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of managing scientific projects.\nStrong analytical skills and expertise in data interpretation and statistical analysis.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nWillingness to travel as required (approximately 5%)\nEmployment with ICON is contingent upon having the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.\nRewards & Benefits\nICON offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package designed to support your health, wellbeing, and career development.\nBenefits may include:\nCompetitive base salary and performance related incentives\nHealth and wellbeing programmes including medical, dental, and vision coverage where applicable\nRetirement and pension plans\nLife assurance and disability coverage\nEmployee assistance programmes and wellbeing resources\nLearning and development opportunities through structured training and career pathways\nBenefits may vary depending on role and location.\nVisit our careers site to read more about the benefits ICON offers.\nInclusion and Accessibility\nICON is an equal opportunity employer.
