Data Science\nAs a Program Manager, Clinical Data Science at ICON, you will oversee and coordinate data science initiatives within clinical programs, providing leadership and delivery oversight across clinical data science activities, including data management, clinical systems and clinical data risk.\nYou will play a key role in coordinating clinical data science delivery, resolving complex issues, developing team capability and ensuring successful project delivery across your assigned projects and client partnerships.\nWhat You Will Do\nYour focus will be on coordinating clinical data science delivery, resolving issues, developing team capability and providing oversight across projects and programs.\nKey responsibilities include:\nManaging the end-to-end execution of clinical data science programs, including planning, resource allocation and delivery of data science projects within scope, time and budget constraints.\nCoordinating with data scientists, statisticians, clinical researchers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, data requirements and analytical approaches.\nDeveloping and maintaining program plans, timelines and budgets, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and successful completion of data science initiatives.\nProviding strategic oversight and guidance on data science methodologies, ensuring analyses are rigorous, valid and aligned with clinical and regulatory standards.\nCommunicating program status, insights and outcomes to stakeholders, including executive leadership, and addressing issues or risks that may impact program success.\nApplying expert knowledge of clinical data science activities, including data management, clinical systems and clinical data risk.\nUnderstanding protocol content in the context of clinical data management and clinical data science delivery.\nProviding consultation on clinical data science best practices, including processes, systems and regulations.\nOverseeing project status and escalating potential problems effectively and in a timely manner, ensuring functional management and those responsible for project management are informed of critical issues that may affect project target dates, scope or budget.\nWorking independently and, as required, managing escalations with clients, external customers and internal departments.\nActing as a point of escalation internally and externally.\nBeing accountable for all CDS project delivery milestones, internal reporting and progress reports for assigned projects.\nHolding primary accountability for delivery oversight of CDS standalone projects.\nProviding oversight across a number of clients or program work within a client partnership.\nSupporting clinical data science strategic plans at client level.\nReviewing project proposals and attending bid defences as a representative of the function when required.\nUndertaking analysis and investigation to identify and define complex problems where limited precedent or guidance may be available, while anticipating future issues.\nOther responsibilities may be assigned as required.\nFinancial Management\nYou will also have responsibility for the financial oversight of projects within your span, including:\nPerforming financial reviews of projects under your span.\nGuiding project teams with respect to out-of-scope tasks.\nOversight management and forecasting within the financial tool utilised.\nReviewing financial documentation and assessing preparedness relating to all clinical data science activities from planning through data delivery and close-out.\nApproving Worked Units, Forecasted Units and project invoices monthly.\nLeadership\nStrong leadership and project management skills.\nActs as an established mentor and/or Subject Matter Expert (SME).\nAccountable for all CDS project delivery milestones and internal reporting and progress reports for assigned projects.\nHolds primary accountability for delivery oversight for CDS standalone projects.\nTypically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.\nAn equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education and experience stated.\nYour Profile\nYou will have solid clinical data science experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop your team. You will bring expert knowledge of clinical data science activities across data management, clinical systems and clinical data risk, together with strong leadership and project management skills.\nYou will be comfortable operating independently, managing client and internal escalations, overseeing complex project delivery and financial performance, and influencing stakeholders on complex matters.\nRequired Qualifications and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related discipline.\nTypically 10+ years of relevant experience.
