In this role, we are not only looking for someone with relevant scientific knowledge and project management experience. Above all, we are looking for a professional who maintains an overview, communicates clearly and takes responsibility. At the same time, this role requires flexibility. Priorities, schedules and circumstances can change. You are able to respond appropriately to these changes and support changes and improvements in a constructive manner.\nYou do not need to have an immediate answer to everything. However, we do expect you to be able to think critically, know where your strengths lie and recognise when you need help or additional expertise. You are able to cope with workload, are aware of your own limits and know how to manage these in a professional and sustainable way.\nYou get energy from finding solutions. With a scientific and pragmatic perspective, you look at what is possible, without losing sight of quality, regulations or agreements that have been made. You do not see change simply as something you have to deal with, but as an opportunity to further improve processes, collaboration and results.\nJob Description\nAs a Project Manager at ICON, you are responsible for the coordination of bioanalytical projects and ensure that they are carried out according to the agreed timelines, budgets, client expectations and quality requirements, including compliance with regulations such as GLP and GCP. You will be based onsite at Assen 60% of your work week.\nYou are an important link between the laboratory, internal stakeholders and our clients. In doing so, you combine scientific insight with project-based thinking: you analyse problems, ask the right questions, consider possible solutions and translate these into concrete actions.\nThis requires someone who can reduce complex information to its core, both in Dutch and English.\nKey Responsibilities\nManaging and reporting on bioanalytical studies, including monitoring and evaluating progress in terms of milestones, budgets and timelines, as well as reviewing and approving laboratory data and ensuring compliance with GxP regulations and SOPs.\nObtaining and reviewing client-specific documents (for example, study plan, clinical study protocol, randomisation lists and certificates of analysis) to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.\nRegular communication with clients regarding project progress and reporting significant deviations.\nProcessing any QA findings.\nLeading sponsor meetings and ensuring that agendas and minutes are accurately maintained.\nEnsuring good collaboration and alignment between the various internal parties (analysts, team leaders and cross-functional departments).\nRequired Qualifications\nDemonstrable university-level education/thinking level (PhD is preferred).\nStrong understanding of bioanalytical techniques and their application in clinical research.\nDemonstrable experience in project management, preferably within the bioanalytical field.\nExcellent organisational and communication skills (Dutch and English), with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and address problems.\nAbility to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and work with clients.\nExperience with HPLC, LC-MS/MS or LSC is preferred.\nIn-depth knowledge of GxP and GLP is preferred.\nIn addition to your professional experience, we believe it is important that your way of working is suited to this position.\nYou communicate clearly and concisely in both Dutch and English. You can structure complex information, distinguish between main and secondary issues, and translate conversations into clear conclusions, agreements and action points. You know your strengths and are aware of areas in which you can further develop yourself. You are open to feedback and are willing to call upon the expertise of others when necessary.\nYou can function effectively when workload increases and different interests or deadlines come together. In doing so, you are aware of your own limits and of the effect of workload on your mental and physical capacity. You communicate about this and take timely action when necessary.\nYou approach problems in a structured and fact-based way. You ask critical questions, analyse the available information and reach well-founded conclusions.\nWhen something does not go according to plan, you focus not only on the problem, but primarily on what is possible. You think in terms of alternatives and solutions, while continuing to safeguard quality, regulations and feasibility.\nYou understand that processes, priorities and organisations change. You can adapt to new circumstances, are open to improvement and help to move changes forward in a constructive way.\nThis position offers room for someone who wants to take responsibility and further develop themselves within project management and bioanalysis. You will work in an environment where scientific quality, client focus and collaboration come together, but where we also expect you to continue to look critically at how the work can be done smarter and better.\nWe are therefore not looking for someone who simply ticks all the boxes. We are looking for someone who demonstrates ownership, communicates clearly, knows themselves, remains curious and, when faced with a challenge, asks: “How can we make this work?”\nEmployment with ICON is contingent upon having the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.\nRewards & Benefits\nICON offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package designed to support your health, wellbeing, and career development.\nBenefits may include:\nCompetitive base salary and performance related incentives\nHealth and wellbeing programmes including medical, dental, and vision coverage where applicable\nRetirement and pension plans\nLife assurance and disability coverage\nEmployee assistance programmes and wellbeing resources\nLearning and development opportunities through structured training and career pathways\nBenefits may vary depending on role and location.\nVisit our careers site to read more about the benefits ICON offers.\nInclusion and Accessibility\nICON is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and accessible workplace where everyone feels valued and supported.\nIf you require reasonable accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know or submit a request here.\nAre you a current ICON Employee?
