This role requires sound judgment, confident negotiation skills, and the ability to balance quality, availability, and financial responsibility.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead purchasing activities across the hotel, including food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and operating supplies.\nSource and evaluate vendors based on product quality, pricing, reliability, and service.\nNegotiate competitive pricing and favorable terms while upholding the hotel’s quality standards.\nPartner with the culinary team to source premium ingredients, seasonal products, and specialty items.\nManage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate timely distribution to departments.\nOversee receiving practices to verify product quality, quantities, pricing, and order accuracy.\nMaintain appropriate inventory levels, anticipate seasonal demand, and minimize shortages, excess stock, and waste.\nCollaborate with Finance on invoice discrepancies, purchasing controls, budget monitoring, and cost reporting.\nMaintain organized purchasing records, vendor information, and inventory documentation.\nAddress supply disruptions promptly and identify suitable alternatives that meet operational needs.\nUphold proper storage, sanitation, and handling standards, particularly for perishable products.\nQualifications\nProven purchasing or procurement management experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or upscale hospitality environment.\nStrong knowledge of hospitality purchasing, inventory control, receiving, and vendor management.\nDemonstrated success negotiating pricing and managing costs without compromising quality.\nExperience sourcing food and beverage products, hotel supplies, amenities, and equipment.\nStrong financial, analytical, and organizational skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing or inventory management systems.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.\nA high level of integrity, attention to detail, and ownership.\nA degree in business, hospitality, supply chain management, or equivalent professional experience preferred.\nFlexibility to support hotel operations, including occasional weekends and holidays.\nJoin Palm House\nBring your expertise to a team where thoughtful sourcing and disciplined operations help create memorable guest experiences.
