You'll play a key role in database performance optimization, migrations, automation, and operational excellence while leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery and quality.Responsibilities\nDeliver database maintenance, performance tuning, and migration activities across our database estate.\nOwn medium-complexity work from requirements through to implementation and release.\nTroubleshoot and resolve production database issues while contributing to long-term improvements.\nUse AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery, validating outputs for quality, security, and accuracy.\nContribute to technical design discussions and database modernization initiatives.\nWrite and maintain automated tests and validation checks as part of your definition of done.\nParticipate in code reviews, providing thoughtful feedback and helping raise engineering standards.\nWork within CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and modern Git-based workflows.\nSkills and Experience\nSolid experience in database engineering, database administration, or a similar role.\nStrong working knowledge of SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and database operations.\nExperience with backups, high availability, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD practices, source control, and infrastructure automation.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nA proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous learning.\nAbout Ideagen\nIdeagen is the invisible force behind many things we rely on every day - from keeping airplanes soaring in the sky, to ensuring the food on our tables is safe, to helping doctors and nurses care for the sick.
