Every IDEAL product comes with the promise made by our founder more than 90 years ago.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nFollow all safety procedures.\nPerform routine production tasks under the close direction of the Supervisor and/or lead person, including but not limited to forming, assembling and packaging of our products; the set-up and operation of various work stations.\nMay require use of various tools and equipment including, but not limited to hand tools, soldering equipment, assembly and test equipment, hand trucks.\nWhere necessary, monitor work visually and dimensionally referring to blueprints, engineering specifications, and job instruction sheets. Maintain quality and rate charts as required.\nSet-up, changeover, and operate primary and secondary manufacturing machines within a work cell. \nConduct daily and operator preventative maintenance on work equipment. \nMay complete subassembly and assembly work within manufacturing work cells when required for production demands. \nMontior and control quality of production pieces through adjustment of machines or tooling. \nFollow all quality procedures and instructions.\nMaintain housekeeping in the work area.\nOther related duties as directed by management.\nRegular, predictable attendance is essential to teamwork, timely information exchange, and meeting productivity requirements. \nSKILLS / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:\nMust be able to follow verbal and written multi-step directions for complex machine operations. \nMust have proven ability to safely operate various manufacturing production machines. \nUnderstand set-up needs, fixturing, and quick changeover. \nVisual acuity and hand dexterity to package and assemble a variety of materials is required.\nFor selected tasks, color and depth perception may be required.\nAbility to perform routine computer data entry and queries is required.\nAble to work effectively in a team environment.\nRequires the ability to read and follow job instructions, complete written forms, and effectively communicate with others. \nThis position will require an OSHA approved powered industrial truck license. \nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or GED. \nMinimum of 12 months of manufacturing machine operator experience is required, 24 months is preferred. \nLean manufacturing experience, including SMED, is preferred. \nA satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be considered.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nMust be able to continuously lift, push and pull up to 5 lbs, for 9-10 hours per day, and on occasion, lift up to 60 lbs. This capability will either be determined from a physical exam or verifiable past performance. \nContinuous standing during a shift (9 - 10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling, and bending. \nMay be required to pass a physical exam for wearing a respirator, which is a requirement for certain jobs. \nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\nHot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations.\nMay be humidity, noise, odors, dust. \nSafety precautions are a must to minimize potential exposure to mechanical hazards. \nThe home department in this job posting is subject to change. \nCompensation Disclosure:\nThe rate of pay for this position is $22.50/hour.
