As we break ground in a new market, you'll serve as a key on-the-ground representative for IdeaTek, working closely with construction contractors and local stakeholders to help ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and to the expected standard.\nThis is a hands-on opportunity for someone who knows construction, communicates well, and wants to grow into broader project management responsibilities. You'll spend much of your time in the field, building relationships with contractors, monitoring work, working through challenges, and helping establish strong construction practices as IdeaTek expands in Tucson.\nA Day in the Life\nYou'll spend your day close to the work-checking in with contractors, visiting active construction sites, monitoring progress, and addressing questions or issues as they arise. You may meet with city representatives, review project plans, walk a route with a contractor, or coordinate with internal teams to keep construction moving.\nBecause Tucson is a new IdeaTek market, you'll have an opportunity to help establish how we work with local contractors, cities, and other stakeholders from the ground up. Your ability to communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and represent IdeaTek professionally will be critical to the success of our construction efforts.\nWhat You'll Do\nKey responsibilities include:\nOversee day-to-day field construction activities for fiber deployments, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.\nServe as a primary IdeaTek point of contact for construction contractors in the Tucson market, providing direction, monitoring progress, and helping resolve field issues.\nRepresent IdeaTek with the City of Tucson and other local stakeholders, communicating project needs, coordinating requirements, and building strong working relationships.\nMonitor construction progress, schedules, materials, manpower, and site conditions and communicate status updates, risks, and potential delays to project leadership.\nCoordinate with internal project management teams to ensure contractors have the information, materials, and resources needed to execute the work.\nSupport project planning and execution across construction activities, including scope, scheduling, procurement, and closeout.\nDocument field activity, project updates, and issues to maintain accurate visibility into construction progress.\nHelp ensure contractors follow IdeaTek safety expectations, construction standards, and applicable local requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve construction processes, contractor performance, and field execution as IdeaTek establishes its Tucson operations.\nWhat We're Looking For\nTo be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:\n3+ years of experience in construction, utility construction, field supervision, or a related role in the Tucson or Southern Arizona construction market\nStrong working knowledge of underground utility construction practices and construction best practices.\nExperience leading or coordinating construction crews, contractors, or field teams.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with contractors, municipalities, and internal teams.\nValid driver's license with a good driving record.\nAbility to work standard construction hours, with flexibility for earlier start times during periods of extreme summer heat.\nWhat Will Help You Stand Out\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBilingual English/Spanish proficiency.\nExperience with underground telecommunications, broadband, utility, or civil construction.\nPrevious experience working directly with municipalities or city permitting/construction departments.\nTelecommunications experience.\nDesired Attributes\nBeyond the qualifications, these attributes are what make someone a great fit for our team:\nProfessional - You represent IdeaTek with confidence, respect, and credibility.\nRelationship Builder - You establish trust with contractors, city representatives, and internal partners.\nProblem Solver - You don't wait for problems to grow; you address them quickly and find practical solutions.\nAdaptable - You can pivot as project conditions, priorities, and schedules change.\nAccountable - You take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.\nCommunicator - You keep the right people informed and can translate field realities into clear project updates.\nWhy Join IdeaTek?\nIdeaTek is a cutting-edge telecommunications company dedicated to bringing fast, reliable internet to underserved communities.
