In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted field resource for residential and business customers, combining technical skill, sound judgment, and strong customer service to help deliver a reliable experience.\nA Day in the Life\nYou’ll spend most of your day in the field completing wireless installations, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and performing repairs at residential and business locations. You may install service drops, configure gateways and WiFi equipment, climb ladders, operate a bucket truck, or work through a service issue directly with a customer.\nEvery stop is a little different, so you’ll need to be adaptable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently while keeping customers informed along the way.\nLocation\nThe individual in this role will support IdeaTek Wireless services throughout Wichita, El Dorado, Andover, Kansas, and surrounding communities.\nWhat You’ll Do\nKey responsibilities include:\nPerform wireless installations and repairs for residential and business customers.\nDiagnose and resolve customer connectivity and service issues accurately and efficiently.\nInstall, configure, and troubleshoot customer equipment, including gateways, WiFi, and related wireless technology.\nInstall and repair VoIP services as needed.\nInstall service drops from the terminal or network equipment to customer homes or businesses.\nProvide an outstanding in-home and business customer experience through friendly, patient, and knowledgeable service.\nWork safely in aerial and underground environments, including operating bucket trucks and climbing ladders.\nMaintain a working knowledge of wireless network infrastructure and continuously build technical skills.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nTo be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:\n2+ years of relevant work experience in a field-based technical role (e.g., installer, electrician, HVAC, or other low-voltage work).\nMust possess or be willing to obtain a Class A/B CDL license.\nValid driver's license with no restrictions.\nAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 80 lbs.\nFlexible schedule with the ability to work an on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as regular Saturdays and/or Sundays.\nComfortable working in underground and aerial environments, including climbing ladders up to 32 ft.\nAbility to enter and operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and collaborative software.\nWhat Will Help You Stand Out\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious experience in the telecommunications, broadband, wireless, or internet service industry.\nFamiliarity with wireless internet equipment, WiFi, gateways, or customer premise equipment.\nExperience troubleshooting customer connectivity or network-related issues.\nDesired Attributes\nBeyond qualifications, these attributes set our strongest team members apart:\nTechnically Curious - You’re eager to learn and continuously build your technical skills and knowledge.\nSelf-Motivated - You bring a strong sense of urgency and see tasks through to completion.\nIndependent - You’re comfortable managing field work on your own while still contributing positively to the team.\nDetail-Oriented - You take pride in accurate, high-quality work.\nCustomer-Focused - You communicate clearly, professionally, and patiently with customers.\nAdaptable - You thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and new challenges.\nProblem Solver - You approach technical issues methodically and work toward effective solutions.\nSafety-Focused - You consistently follow company safety expectations and safe work practices.\nWhy Join IdeaTek?\nIdeaTek is a cutting-edge telecommunications company dedicated to bringing fast, reliable internet to underserved communities.
