Whether you’re an experienced professional, a recent college graduate or somewhere in between, IDEX is a place where you can apply your existing skills and learn new ones in an environment where you can make an impact.\nWith interesting opportunities in engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, operations, HR, finance, and more across more than 40 diverse businesses around the globe, chances are, we have something special for you.\nSUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: \nThe Commodity Manager, Electronics will be responsible forelectronicssupplier management,components purchasingand inventorytosupport both the Akron Brass, Weldon,and Fire &SafetyGroup businessesas required.\nREPORTS TO (Title) :Director of Supply Chain\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \nDevelops and maintainsrelationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers\n\nSeeks out, identifiesand qualifies new electronics and contract manufacturing suppliers\n\nOversees and maintainsinventoriesfor all electronic components\n\nResearches, analyzes, and forecasts current and futureelectronicsbuying trends and markets\n\nAssesses financial risks of purchases regardingexcess or PPV control\n\nWorks and negotiates with suppliers to ensure market pricing for the business unit(s)\n\nUnderstand current market conditions, Geo-political environment and incorporate into commodity strategies to effectively mitigate supply chain risk.\n\nUtilizes 80/20 mindset to establish strategies and reduce supply base complexity for assigned commodities. This also includes identifying opportunities for product complexity reduction and leading project teams to do so\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND REQUIRED ABILITIES:\nRequired experience in identifyingand developing new electronics suppliers, buying electronic components (PCBs, controllers) and turnkey electronics products throughcontract manufacturers\n\nExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skills\n\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to function well in a high-paced environment\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nBachelor’sdegree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.\n\n5+ years in a prior electronics commodities'role or similar\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT:\n25% travel.\n\nPerform general office functions.\n\nVisual acuity requiredfor close detail work and computer use.\n\nGeneral manufacturing, warehouse,and office environment.\n\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
