Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, AFS serves customers around the world with a commitment to quality, innovation, safety, and customer success.\nAFS is Seeking a Quality Engineer to Join Our Team\nNo Visa Sponsorship is Available For This Position\nPosition Summary\nThe Quality Engineer supports product and process quality across the manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring products are designed, manufactured, and tested in accordance with AFS requirements and applicable standards. This role drives quality system compliance, supplier quality performance, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting company quality and operational objectives.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nSupport the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the AFS Quality Management System (QMS).\nReview product designs, specifications, manufacturing documentation, work instructions, procedures, and test methods to ensure quality requirements are defined and met.\nLead quality planning activities related to engineering changes, including process flow analysis, process controls, and risk mitigation.\nSupport and maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and applicable regulatory requirements.\nParticipate in internal and external audits and drive corrective actions to closure.\nInvestigate customer complaints, internal nonconformances, and supplier quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.\nDetermine root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and verify effectiveness.\nDevelop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, PFMEAs, inspection plans, process assessments, and quality records.\nAnalyze process and product performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.\nConduct capability studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R activities, and implement improvement actions as needed.\nMonitor supplier quality performance through scorecards, performance metrics, and corrective action processes.\nCoordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities and review supplier PPAP submissions for approval.\nParticipate in Material Review Board (MRB), calibration, change management, deviation management, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nTrain employees on quality tools, methods, procedures, and best practices.\nCollaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to improve product quality and manufacturing effectiveness.\nEnsure quality processes support a safe working environment and comply with company safety requirements.\nPlan and prioritize daily activities to meet departmental objectives and business needs.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.\nParticipate in company-provided training and professional development opportunities.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nKey Competencies\nQuality Management Systems (ISO 9001/14001)\nRoot Cause Analysis and Corrective Action\nStatistical Process Control (SPC)\nPFMEA and Control Plans\nProcess Capability Analysis\nMeasurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R\nSupplier Quality Management\nPPAP and APQP\nContinuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nProblem Solving and Data Analysis\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree (mechanical engineering, industrial engineer, etc.) preferred or equivalent experience\nSix Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred\nStatistical analysis (Minitab)\nMinimum 5 years in a quality related field\nQuality systems development\nKnowledge of CMM/ programming\nMachining, Casting and assembly (electronics and mechanical)\nSupplier and Internal Quality and Performance of audits\nAre you ready to join a different kind of company where our people, our culture, and our commitments are centered around providing trusted solutions that improve lives around the world?\nIDEX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
