This role is responsible for setting the direction for quality at the site, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and building a team and quality management system that support consistent, scalable execution.\nOperating in a lean manufacturing environment, the Quality Manager ensures that quality is embedded into daily operations rather than functioning as a separate checkpoint. This role drives alignment across operations, engineering, and supply chain, with a focus on proactively identifying and addressing quality risks.\nThe Quality Manager is accountable for establishing priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring appropriate team coverage across shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. This role maintains visibility into floor operations while focusing on long-term system strength, audit readiness, and customer satisfaction.\nIn environments that include precision manufacturing and cleanroom operations, this role ensures that quality standards are maintained across controlled environments, specialized processes, and product-specific requirements.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead and develop the site quality team, including organizational design, hiring, coaching, and performance management\nOwn site quality performance, including defect rates, yield, customer complaints, cost of quality, and audit outcomes\nEstablish and communicate quality priorities aligned with site and business objectives\nEnsure appropriate resourcing and coverage across shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by production\nOversee execution of inspection, testing, and quality control processes to ensure consistency and effectiveness\nEnsure root cause and corrective actions are completed thoroughly and sustainably, with clear ownership and follow-through\nOwn the site quality management system, ensuring alignment with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations\nLead internal, customer, and regulatory audits, including preparation, execution, and response\nPartner cross-functionally to improve processes, reduce variability, and enhance product performance\nDrive a culture of accountability where quality is owned across functions\nMonitor quality trends and risks, proactively identifying areas requiring intervention\nProvide leadership reporting on quality performance, risks, and improvement initiatives\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field required\n5+years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or quality environments, preferably in precision manufacturing or regulated industries\n3+years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing setting, optical components and optomechanical assemblies experience preferred\nExperience owning quality systems, audits, and regulatory or customer requirements\nExperience supporting cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments preferred\nDemonstrated experience driving cross-functional quality initiatives\nExperience operating in lean or continuous improvement-driven environments\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:\nStrong leadership and team development capabilities\nDeep understanding of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and inspection methodologies\nFamiliarity with cleanroom practices, contamination control, or precision manufacturing standards\nAbility to operate at both strategic and operational levels\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills\nAbility to influence across functions and drive accountability\nStrong analytical skills and ability to interpret trends\nEffective communication and stakeholder management skills\nWorking Conditions & Physical Demands:\nRegular presence on the manufacturing floor, including cleanroom environments, during standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.\nUse of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including cleanroom garments, as required by the work environment.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods while supporting manufacturing operations.\nOccasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.\nTravel to customer locations and other company sites as required.\n\nAdditional Requirement:\nCertain positions with IDEX Corporation and its business units require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.
