This role combines technical leadership, people leadership, and hands-on engineering execution.\nInitially, the successful candidate will operate as a working manager, directly contributing to engineering projects while leading a small team of engineering professionals responsible for product application support, engineering changes, customer-driven modifications, and product lifecycle management. This is an exceptional opportunity for a high-potential engineering leader seeking to make a significant impact while helping shape the future of a growing organization.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEngineering Leadership\nLead engineering activities supporting the existing product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle.\nOwn execution of engineering priorities, including product improvements, engineering changes, obsolescence management, and customer-requested modifications.\nProvide engineering leadership and technical guidance for investigations related to field failures, manufacturing issues, customer complaints, and product performance concerns in partnership with Quality and Operations.\nEnsure timely resolution of engineering requests from operations, quality, supply chain, sales, and customers.\nDrive product reliability, manufacturability, and performance improvements.\nTranslate business objectives into engineering priorities, resource plans, and organizational actions.\nParticipate in engineering strategy, resource planning, and succession planning initiatives.\nSupport the development of long-term engineering capabilities aligned with company growth objectives.\nContribute to the evolution of the engineering organization through talent development, process improvement, and organizational design.\nWorking Manager Responsibilities\nPersonally execute engineering work on critical projects and business priorities.\nReview designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.\nParticipate directly in root cause investigations and corrective action activities.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, designers, manufacturing personnel, and cross-functional teams.\nServe as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.\nCommunicate project status, risks, priorities, and resource constraints effectively to cross-functional leadership\nTeam Leadership and Talent Development\nLead, coach, and develop engineering personnel.\nConduct goal setting, performance reviews, regular one-on-one meetings, and development discussions.\nIdentify growth opportunities for team members and help develop future technical and people leaders.\nCreate a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nSupport recruiting, onboarding, and development of future engineering team members.\nBuilding Organizational Capability\nDevelop and implement scalable engineering processes.\nImprove engineering effectiveness through standardization, documentation, and process discipline.\nBuild systems that enable growth without creating organizational bottlenecks.\nEvaluate team capacity and capabilities to align resources with changing business needs.\nRecommend organizational improvements, staffing plans, and capability investments.\nEngineering Change and Product Lifecycle Management\nOwn and continuously improve engineering change processes.\nEnsure engineering documentation remains accurate, controlled, and aligned with company requirements.\nLead redesign efforts driven by quality, cost, supply chain, manufacturing, or customer needs.\nSupport lifecycle management activities including component obsolescence and supplier transitions.\nQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Preferred)\nExperience in the PVF (Pipe, Valve, & Fitting) industry. (Preferred)\nExperience developing or improving engineering processes and systems.
