We are looking to add more talent to our team.\nSCOPE OF ROLE:\nResponsible for the supervising and sustaining assigned value streams. Demonstrated success in applying basics of Lean: Single piece flow, setup time reduction, inventory reduction, 5S, etc. Will supervise both machining and assembly teams this includes timekeeping while maintaining positive employee relations, team-oriented problem solving, and administering employee discipline and recognition as related to Company policy.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\nSupervises and coordinates the activities of production and workers, including coordinating the production schedule.\nResponsible for Safety and 5S in assigned value stream areas.\nResponsible for team building and skill development of the employees in the value stream areas assigned.\nResponsible for monitoring each production associate’s daily attendance for accuracy and approval. \nProvides regular feedback and performance management to team - administers correction when necessary.\nMust conduct Daily Value Stream Walk:Looking for proper flow, disruptions to flow, (identify on issue board), and adherence to standard work instructions.\nCoaching employees, defect data collection, and talking with operators about disruptions and ideas on continuous improvements.\nMonitoring, assessing, and correcting safety and quality practices.\n\nImprove key metrics: Safety, Quality, OTD, Schedule Attainment, Units Per Man Hour, and Productivity.\nManages Value Stream Board to ensure processes are implemented and followed.\nWorks with other value stream owners and managers to develop and administer consistent departmental and corporate policies.\nWrites and conducts development plans for employees within value stream.\nDemonstrates experience and knowledge in the manufacturing and/or industrial industry.\nBe a self-starter while maintaining high ethical standards.\nDemonstrates ability to work well with others.\nDemonstrates ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.\nDemonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask as needed.\nPossesses exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills.\nExhibits ability to operate computers and program or software applications with proficiency.\nDemonstrates commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and quality standards.\nDemonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communications.\nCapable of following verbal and written instructions.\nAbility to learn, understand, and apply basic cost accounting concepts.\nPossesses organizational skills.\nCreates and sustains training and implements rotation of employees for cross training and career development.\nImproves On Time Delivery by managing staffing and increased units per hour.\nImproves 5S audit scores.\nIncreases Employee Engagement survey results by 5% from previous year.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field or equivalent experience with at least one (1) year demonstrated success in supervision ORAssociate’s Degree in Business or Engineering with at least three (3) years demonstrated success in supervision or manufacturing technical support, OR\nAt least five (5) years demonstrated success in manufacturing supervision, OR\nAt least five (5) years GAST Product experience with at least one (1) year demonstrated success in supervision, OR\nAt least 10 years of experience directly supervising a team in any industry.\n\nDemonstrates knowledge of Lean processes, tools, and one piece flow, preferred.\nDemonstrates knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferred.\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nMust have the ability to work varying shifts, including weekends.\nPossesses technical aptitude and mental/physical/visual acuity.\nAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.\nAbility to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.\nGAST Manufacturing, a Unit of IDEX Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to workforce diversity.\nThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the essential duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
