This role sits at the center of how IDEXX plans, measures, and communicates its financial performance, supporting total company reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and executive and Board of Directors deliverables. It is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, detail-oriented finance professional to build a broad understanding of a global, multi-segment business.\nWorking alongside experienced analysts and managers, the Financial Analyst prepares and consolidates financial reporting, performs variance analysis, maintains models and reporting tools, and supports the recurring close, forecast, budget, and strategic planning cycles. The role combines hands-on execution with meaningful exposure to enterprise-level results and the finance leaders who use them.\nLocation: This role is required to be onsite 8+ days per month at our Westbrook, Maine headquarters.\nWhy this role matters:\nThe purpose of our global finance team is to efficiently deliver relevant, reliable and timely financial services and to partner in business decisions which will enhance IDEXX's long-term value for pets, customers, employees and shareholders.\nIn this role:\nYou will prepare recurring management reporting for month-end and quarter-end close, including consolidated total company results, standard reporting packages, and variance analysis with clear, concise commentary.\nYou will support the total company forecast and annual budget roll-up by collecting and validating submissions from segment and functional finance teams, reconciling inputs, and preparing consolidated views.\nYou will assist in developing Board of Directors and executive leadership materials, building supporting schedules, charts, and exhibits under the direction of senior team members.\nYou will analyze revenue, gross margin, and operating expense performance against forecast, budget, and prior year, researching drivers and clearly explaining what changed and why.\nYou will build and maintain financial models, reporting templates, dashboards, and analytical tools, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across deliverables.\nYou will support the annual strategic planning process by preparing historical trend analysis, supporting schedules, and consolidated planning views.\nYou will support period-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accrual support, and review of the accuracy and completeness of financial information.\nYou will complete ad hoc financial analysis and special projects, responding to requests from finance colleagues and business partners with well-organized, decision-ready output.\nYou will retrieve, manipulate, and reconcile data from multiple financial and reporting systems, investigating and resolving inconsistencies.\nYou will identify and implement improvements to recurring reporting and processes, using automation and system tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.\nYou will support the internal control environment by following documented procedures, maintaining strong documentation, and escalating gaps or issues.\nYou will build effective working relationships across global finance teams, collaborating to coordinate deliverables and resolve questions.\nWhat you need to succeed:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.\nStrong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work comfortably with large data sets.\nExcellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy in financial information.\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities within a recurring close, forecast, and budget calendar.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of ownership for the work and deliverables.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial results for financial and non-financial audiences.\nCuriosity and a desire to understand the why and how, not just the what, along with a continuous improvement mindset.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and comfort learning new financial systems and reporting tools.\nExperience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related finance function, including internship or co-op experience, preferred.\nExperience with consolidation, planning, or ERP systems (such as OneStream or SAP) preferred.\nFamiliarity with data analysis and visualization tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, or SAC) a plus, but not required.\nWhat you can expect from us:\nBase salary of $65,000 + (based on experience)\nOpportunity for an annual bonus\nHealth, dental, and vision benefits effective on Day One\n5% matching 401(k)\nAdditional benefits including financial support resources, pet insurance, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, employee stock purchase opportunities, foundation donation matching, and more\nWhy IDEXX\nWe’re proud of the work we do, because our work matters.
