Your work will support the continued evolution of ezyVet and help enable future AI-driven capabilities, ensuring veterinary teams have access to secure, scalable, and reliable data solutions.\nIn this role:\nYou will lead the migration of data assets from legacy systems into cloud-native environments using AWS and our bespoke Conversion Framework.\nYou will design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines across hybrid cloud environments.\nYou will build new systems and enhance existing applications that support data migration and platform growth.\nYou will implement .NET-based microservices with strong observability and integration into broader data platforms.\nYou will develop custom ETL pipelines using AWS services, Python, and MySQL.\nYou will design scalable and secure cloud architectures leveraging AWS services including S3, Lambda, EKS, EC2, VPC, and RDS.\nYou will integrate and support both legacy PHP/C# applications and modern cloud-native .NET services.\nYou will implement governance, lineage, monitoring, and observability practices to ensure data quality, traceability, and reliability.\nYou will collaborate with AI and machine learning teams to enable reliable data access for model training and advanced analytics initiatives.\nYou will leverage metadata and structured data models to support AI explainability, auditability, and long-term platform scalability.\nYou will guide engineering teams on best practices for cloud-based data handling, Terraform, infrastructure-as-code, and secure system architecture.\nYou will coach junior developers and collaborate closely with product, platform, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.\nWhat you need to succeed:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience\n3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or related fields, including recent experience supporting cloud data migration initiatives\nStrong experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, and Lambda\nStrong proficiency with MySQL and object-oriented programming principles\nExperience developing with PHP, C#, .NET Core, React, and Python\nExperience working with AWS EKS and cloud-native architectures\nExperience designing and implementing ETL pipelines and data integration solutions\nStrong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes\nExperience leading or contributing to cloud migration projects involving legacy and modern systems\nExperience working on AI-related projects or supporting AI/ML data workflows\nKnowledge of data governance, monitoring, and observability best practices\nExperience working with data compliance regulations, including GDPR\nFamiliarity with technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink\nStrong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams\nDemonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute technical leadership within engineering teams\nWhat you can expect from us:\nOpportunity for annual bonuses\nMedical Insurance\nCycle to Work scheme\nWork-from-home and wellbeing stipends\n10% pension contribution\nSalary range of £40,000-£50,000\nHybrid working model\nOpportunities for ongoing learning, development, and career growth\nWhy IDEXX:\nWe’re proud of the work we do, because our work matters.
