The focus on enhancing the lives of people and pets, starts with our own employees and empowering them to achieve their goals, focusing on continuous improvement, and supporting the strong collaboration and inclusiveness that exist in our team.\nIn this Role:\nIn this role you will serve as both a Laboratory Supervisor (60%) and Individual Contributor (40%).\n\nAs a Lab Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing Laboratory Technicians performing work in a variety of clinical departments.\n\nYou will leverage your passion for coaching and developing employees, and helping them reach business goals and their full potential.\n\nYou will organize staff schedules, coordinate workflow, and oversee costs and metrics.\n\nYou will problem-solve every day, from trouble-shooting diagnostic analyzers to resolving situational workflow and turnaround time challenges.\n\nYou will be a business leader and a people leader for the lab and the line of business.\n\nYou will bring your passion and enthusiasm for teamwork, success, innovation and excellence to your role, every day.\n\nAs an individual contributor, You will be using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests. that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.\n\nYou will be performing diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal, or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.\n\nYou will be responsible for setting up and running lab tests and reading and releasing results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).\n\nYou can explore more about our different clinical departments here: https://careers.idexx.com/us/en/referencelaboratories\n\nWhat You Will Need to Succeed:\nYou’ve directly supervised 10+ employees in a fast-paced and/or high-volume work environment.\n\nIdeally, you have knowledge of human clinical or veterinary testing and procedures, but operations leadership experience fromanyindustry required.\n\nYou have knowledge of clinical pathology testing areas such as Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Cytology, etc.\n\nYou have strong people leadership skills\n\nYou have worked in a fast-paced, high-volume environment during the 3rd shift hours\n\nYou are passionate about people leadership.\n\nYou are excited about the opportunity to use your skills and abilities in promoting the health and well-being of animals.\n\nYou can work a full-time schedule that may vary slightly based on business needs.\n\nYou are able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab: standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability - close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\n\nThis is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.\n\nWhat You Can Expect From Us:\nSalary targeting$70,000 per yearwith some flexibility depending on years and depth of experience.\n\nOpportunity for annual cash bonus\n\nOpportunity for performance-based annual merit increase\n\nHealth/Dental Benefits Day - One\n\nPaid sick time, and paid vacation time\n\nAdditional benefits include, but are not limited to financial support, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, and much more!\n\nSchedule:\nThis is a full time, 40hr per week, 3rd Shift position\n\nThe schedule for this position is: Monday Night - Friday Night\n\nThe hours for this overnight position are: Midnight - 8:30am\n\nThere will be a Saturday rotation each month where you will work your normal hours.
