Lead Data Scientist

Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy credit risk/collections/fraud models
• Develop application and behavioral scorecards using statistical techniques
• Own the complete model lifecycle: data features, modeling, validation, deployment
• Partner with business, product, and tech teams to solve high-impact problems
• Drive model monitoring, performance tracking, and recalibration
• Ensure model governance and regulatory compliance
• Mentor junior team members and guide modelling best practices

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in credit risk modelling/analytics
• Strong hands-on experience with scorecard development (logistic regression)
• Proficiency in Python / SAS / SQL
• Experience handling large datasets & feature engineering
• Strong understanding of the BFSI / banking domain
• Exposure to model validation, governance, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving ability

Secondary Requirements:

• Experience ML models (XGBoost, LightGBM, etc. ).
• Exposure to collections/fraud/rural lending models.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading small teams.
