Shift times are general hours; some projects may require earlier or later reporting based on customer requirements.\nJob Description\nIDS is seeking a Computer Systems Engineer I (Computer Network Architect) to support the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of complex cyber range and test bed environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for architecting and configuring physical, virtual, and cloud-based network infrastructures that support training, testing, and operational requirements. This role requires experience with network engineering, systems administration, virtualization technologies, automation tools, and infrastructure orchestration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of enterprise Windows and Linux environments, cyber infrastructure, and emerging technologies including ICS/SCADA, IoT, RF, and integrated sensor systems.\nKey Duties\nDesign, configure, and maintain cyber range and computer test bed environments.\nArchitect and support physical, virtual, and cloud-based network infrastructures.\nConfigure and manage routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, Active Directory, VPNs, VLANs, and SAN technologies.\nDeploy and maintain bare metal and virtualized systems in support of mission requirements.\nDevelop and implement automation, provisioning, imaging, orchestration, and configuration management solutions.\nUtilize tools such as Ansible, Chef, FOG, Python, and Bash to streamline system administration and deployment activities.\nEngineer and administer VMware, KVM, Xen, and other virtualization platforms.\nAdminister and maintain Windows enterprise and Linux server operating systems.\nMonitor infrastructure performance and support network and systems troubleshooting activities.\nIdentify and address network vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation strategies.\nSupport integration and operation of technologies including camera systems, ICS/SCADA environments, IoT devices, and RF systems.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to support cyber training, testing, and operational objectives.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.\nMust meet DoDM 8140.03 IAT II requirements.\nActive Secret security clearance required.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in the configuration and operation of cyber range or computer test bed environments.\nDemonstrated experience designing and configuring computer networks, including routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, Active Directory, VPNs, VLANs, and SANs utilizing bare metal and virtualized systems.\nDemonstrated experience with automation, provisioning, imaging, orchestration, and configuration management using Ansible, Chef, FOG, Python, and Bash scripting.\nCloud, physical, and virtual network architecture, engineering, and infrastructure monitoring experience.\nExperience with hypervisors such as VMware, KVM, and Xen.\nDemonstrated experience with Windows enterprise and Linux server/operating systems engineering and administration.\nKnowledge of network vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.\nDemonstrated experience working with technologies including camera systems, ICS/SCADA, IoT, and RF devices.\nCompensation\nCompetitive Hourly Pay\nBenefits\nEmployee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds, but may vary depending on the position.
