Engineering Manager (POS systems)

About the Role:

Our National Retail Solutions brand is a highly successful Point-of-Sale (POS) SaaS business, rapidly expanding into new sectors with over 40,000 software and hardware terminals in independent retailers like: convenience stores, bodegas, liquor stores, small grocers, and tobacco shops.

We’re looking for a highly technical, hands-in-code Engineering Manager, with experience building highly scalable and robust systems who wants to focus on:

1. Team Building: Hiring, Coaching, Firing.

2. Engineering Process: Agentic Development.

3. Technical Leadership.

You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, operations, go-to-market teams, and executive leadership to create intuitive, scalable products that solve real operational challenges for our customers.

This is an opportunity to build meaningful products from the ground up in a fast-moving environment where customer empathy, speed, and product quality matter.

Requirements:

• Proven Leadership Experience: 5+ years in technical leadership and people management at a SaaS business.

• Product background: Experience building Point-of-Sale (POS) systems is a strong plus.
• Technical Depth: Proven background as a software engineer with a track record of driving large-scale distributed systems or complex platform architectures.
• Talent Development: Proven experience in scaling engineering orgs (e.g., growing teams from 10 to 15 engineers) and building career frameworks.
• Communication & Influence: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Good command of English, at B2 level or higher.
• Russian language would be a plus.
