Represent the college at events and activities when the dean is unavailable.Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Office of Student Accountability.\nHires, trains, supervises, develops, and evaluates professional, graduate, and student staff.\nEstablishes office priorities, workflows, service expectations, and operational goals.\nMonitors caseloads, timelines, and staff assignments to ensure timely and effective case resolution.\nReviews work to promote accuracy, consistency, and compliance with University policies and procedures.\nFosters an office culture centered on student learning, collaboration, professional development, and effective service.\nOversees the administration and adjudication of academic and nonacademic student misconduct matters.\nProvides leadership and consultation on complex, high impact, sensitive, or precedent setting cases.\nDetermines appropriate resolution pathways in accordance with University policies and procedures.\nPromotes consistent application of conduct procedures, sanctions, educational interventions, interim measures, and documentation standards.\nCoordinates hearing panels and other formal resolution processes as appropriate.\nProvides guidance and support to staff managing routine and complex student accountability matters\nLeads the review, interpretation, development, and implementation of the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities and related procedures.\nMonitors relevant legal, regulatory, institutional, and professional developments related to student conduct and accountability.\nRecommends updates to University policies, procedures, and practices based on emerging needs and best practices.\nEvaluates conduct processes and implements improvements that strengthen fairness, consistency, efficiency, and the student experience.\nMaintains appropriate standards for case documentation, records management, confidentiality, and procedural compliance.\nProvides leadership and subject matter expertise on student conduct, behavioral intervention, and student accountability matters across the University.\nServes as an active member of the Behavioral Intervention Team and collaborates with campus partners to coordinate responses to complex student concerns.\nAdvises and consults with faculty, staff, students, Legal Counsel, Police Services, Housing and Residence Life, academic units, and other campus partners regarding student behavior and appropriate response pathways.\nIdentifies emerging behavioral and conduct trends and works collaboratively to strengthen prevention, intervention, and education strategies.\nDevelops and supports training and educational resources related to student conduct processes, reporting expectations, community standards, and student rights and responsibilities.\nPromotes educational, developmental, restorative, and alternative approaches to accountability where appropriate.\nRepresents the Office of Student Accountability on University committees, workgroups, and initiatives as assigned.\nUses student conduct data and assessment to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, monitor consistency, and inform prevention, education, staffing, and resource decisions.\nDevelops reports and recommendations related to case volume, types of misconduct, resolution timelines, sanctions, repeat behavior, and other indicators of office effectiveness.\nEstablishes goals and uses assessment findings to support continuous improvement of the student accountability function.\nServes as advisor to the Student Government Association Student Court, or an assigned designee, as applicable.\nProvides guidance regarding assigned appeals and matters related to the Student Government Association constitution, bylaws, election code, and other student governance processes as appropriate.\nLeads or contributes to special projects, strategic initiatives, and cross functional efforts within the Dean of Students Office and Division of Student Affairs.\nRepresents the Dean of Students Office as appropriate and performs other duties as assigned.\nMaster's degree and five years of appropriate experience, or a Juris Doctorate (JD) and three years of appropriate experience.
