The EHS Engineer partners with operations, maintenance, quality, and contractors to identify hazards, assess and reduce operational and process safety risks, support Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Management of Change (MOC) activities, improve environmental performance, and maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable workplace.IFF is a global leader in flavors, fragrances, foodingredientsand health & biosciences, wedeliver sustainable innovations that elevate everyday products.\nGlobal Operations: Ensuring excellence in execution-from procurement to supply chain and reliability-delivering quality, safety,efficiencyand sustainability across the value chain\nWe are looking for an EHS Engineer to join our Cairo site.\nYou will join a collaborative, supportive, knowledgeable, and highly engaged team that is passionate about safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement.\nWhere You'll Make a Difference\nSafety Leadership & Culture\nPromote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, coaching, and awareness initiatives.\n\nSupport site EHS policies, procedures, and standards.\n\nLead safety campaigns, observations, and employee engagement activities.\n\nSupport Safety Committee initiatives and action plans.\n\nDrive continuous improvement of site safety performance.\n\nRisk Management & Compliance\nConduct workplace risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSA).\n\nPerform EHS inspections, audits, and workplace evaluations.\n\nEnsure compliance with local regulations and IFF EHS requirements.\n\nTrack corrective and preventive actions and ensure timely closure.\n\nSupport ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.\n\nSupport Management of Change (MOC) activities and safety reviews for new projects.\n\nProcess & Contractor Safety\nSupport the site Process Safety Management (PSM) program and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nParticipate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), including What-If, LOPA, Bow-Tie, HAC, and ATEX assessments.\n\nSupport MOC, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and process safety reviews.\n\nLead or support investigations of process safety incidents and near misses.\n\nAdminister contractor safety programs, inductions, audits, and compliance activities.\n\nSupport permit-to-work and contractor control processes.\n\nIncident Investigation & Emergency Preparedness\nLead and support incident investigations and root cause analyses.\n\nDevelop and track corrective and preventive actions.\n\nIdentify trends and recommend improvement initiatives.\n\nCoordinate emergency drills and support Emergency Response Team activities.\n\nConduct inspections of fire protection and emergency equipment.\n\nEnsure emergency preparedness compliance and readiness.\n\nEnvironmental & Sustainability Management\nSupport environmental compliance and sustainability programs.\n\nCoordinate waste management, recycling, and waste reduction initiatives.\n\nSupport Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) objectives and certification requirements.\n\nMonitor environmental performance indicators, including energy, water, and waste metrics.\n\nSupport environmental permits, reporting, and regulatory compliance.\n\nTraining & Performance Monitoring\nDeliver EHS training programs and employee inductions.\n\nDevelop safety awareness campaigns and communications.\n\nMaintain training records and competency matrices.\n\nTrack and report EHS performance metrics and KPIs.\n\nPrepare reports and presentations for site leadership.\n\nSupport internal and external audits and recommend improvement opportunities.\n\nWhat Makes You the Right Fit\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.\n\n3-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nNEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification.\n\nExperience implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.\n\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\n\nHow Would You Stand Out?\nExperience within manufacturing, chemical, food, flavors, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries.\n\nExperience with Process Safety Management (PSM).\n\nKnowledge of What-If Analysis, LOPA, Bow-Tie, HAC, and ATEX methodologies.\n\nWhy Choose Us?\nAt IFF, we believe your uniqueness unleashes our potential.
