This role is based in Jacksonville, FL (On-Site). You will work in a collaborative manufacturing environment, partnering across technical and operational teams to strengthen process safety, regulatory compliance, operational reliability, and continuous improvement.

Where You'll Make a Difference

  • Lead and continuously improve site Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOPs, What-If reviews, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other process risk assessment activities.
  • Track and drive timely completion of PHA recommendations, process safety action items, and corrective actions.
  • Lead Management of Change (MOC) reviews and support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for new or modified processes and equipment.
  • Maintain and improve critical process safety information, including P&IDs, PFDs, equipment specifications, operating limits, safeguards, interlocks, and pressure relief systems.
  • Lead or support process safety incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to process events, equipment failures, and loss of containment.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and EH&S to evaluate capital projects, process modifications, and operational improvements from a process safety perspective.
  • Support process safety audits, regulatory inspections, emergency preparedness activities, and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and deliver process safety training while promoting employee engagement, ownership, and a strong process safety culture across the site.

What Makes You the Right Fit?

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Five or more years of experience in process safety, chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, specialty chemicals, or a related industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements.
  • Experience facilitating PHA, HAZOP, or other process risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of MOC, PSSR, Mechanical Integrity, and incident investigation programs.
  • Strong understanding of chemical process operations and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

How Would You Stand Out?

  • PE, CSP, CCPSC, or similar professional certification, with experience supporting highly hazardous chemical processes.
  • Experience with LOPA, consequence modeling, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), process interlocks, safeguards, or alarm management.
  • Knowledge of emergency response programs and standards such as OSHA VPP, RC14001, ISO 14001, or Responsible Care®.
