This role works closely with HR, Finance, Accounts Payable, and external payroll providers (e.g., Papaya Global) to ensure payroll data integrity, statutory compliance, and accurate journal postings into the accounting system (e.g., BC Central). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-aware, resilient under pressure, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment.\nPrinciple accountabilities: \nPayroll Processing & Validation\nCoordinate monthly payroll inputs across multiple countries (UK, EMEA, APAC).\nReview and validate HR-approved data from the HCM system\nSubmit payroll data to external payroll providers within agreed timelines.\nReview payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and variance reports.\nPerform pre- and post-payroll reconciliations.\nSupport off-cycle payments (if any) and adjustments.\n Data Integrity & Controls\nEnsure HR cut-off deadlines are met and approved data is complete before payroll processing.\nValidate payroll changes against supporting documentation.\nPerform payroll control checks (pre-process, process, post-process).\nMaintain payroll trackers, planners, and monthly checklists.\nEscalate discrepancies, risks, or compliance concerns promptly.\n Compliance & Statutory Requirements\nSupport compliance with local tax, social security, pension, and labour regulations across UK, EMEA, and APAC.\nEnsure statutory filings are completed by payroll providers.\nMaintain documentation to support internal and external audits.\nMonitor legislative updates impacting payroll.\nSupport year-end activities (e.g., P60s, annual declarations, local filings).\n Payroll Accounting & Reconciliation\nReview payroll journals prepared by the payroll provider.\nValidate payroll costs, employer contributions, and statutory liabilities.\nReconcile payroll outputs to the general ledger (BC Central).\nSupport monthly payroll accruals and variance analysis.\nAssist Finance with payroll reporting and audit requirements.\nVendor & Stakeholder Management\nAct as point of contact for external payroll providers.\nLiaise with HR to resolve data discrepancies prior to payroll cut-off.\nCollaborate with AP to ensure payroll funding is transferred on time.\nSupport employees with payroll-related queries.\nContribute to payroll process improvements and transformation initiatives.\nQualifications and experience:\n3+ years payroll experience, ideally multi-country (UK & EMEA essential; APAC desirable).\nExperience working with outsourced payroll providers\nStrong understanding of payroll controls and reconciliations.\nBasic accounting knowledge (journals, accruals, GL reconciliation).\nExperience working with HCM systems (e.g., HiBob).\nStrong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).\nHigh attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.\nStrong communication skills across global stakeholders.\nDesirable:\nCIPP qualification (or equivalent).\nExperience supporting payroll transformation or system implementation.\nExposure to payroll data integrations (HCM → Payroll → Finance).\nExperience in high-growth or scaling international organisations.\nKey competencies:\nStrong Data Integrity Mindset\nCompliance-Oriented\nDetail-Focused & Analytical\nCalm Under Pressure\nProactive & Solution-Focused\nCollaborative Across Functions\nApplication closing date: 13th November 2026\nPlease note that while we have a closing date for this application, we reserve the right to interview candidates and potentially close the role early should we find a suitable candidate before the closing date.\nAbout us\nAt the IFRS Foundation, we believe better information leads to better decisions.
