So bring your ideas: together, we will explore whether and how we can put them into practice.\nYour role\nAs an Assistant Controller, you will have a broad role within our Accounting & Control team. You will contribute to financial administration, periodic closings, reporting, treasury and audits, giving you the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of different areas within Finance.\nYou will work alongside experienced colleagues who will support you and help you develop your professional skills. As your knowledge and experience grow, so will your independence and responsibilities.\nAt the same time, Ultimo is looking ahead. AI and automation create many opportunities to make processes more efficient, improve quality and reduce manual work. You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to this. You do not need to be an AI expert - curiosity and a willingness to experiment are much more important to us.\nWhat will you do?\nWithin Accounting & Control, you will support activities including:\nmonthly, quarterly and year-end closings;\nreviewing and processing financial data;\npreparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules;\nidentifying and following up on discrepancies in the financial administration;\nintercompany reconciliations between our international entities;\nimproving and further automating financial processes and internal controls.\nWithin Audit & Compliance, you will support external audits, prepare audit documentation and assist with CBS filings, statistical reporting and other finance and compliance-related activities.\nTreasury will also be part of your role. You will support weekly payment runs, banking activities, cash flow reporting and liquidity management.\nFinance, technology & AI\nFinance is changing rapidly. We do not see AI and automation as something for the future, but as part of how we want to work today and tomorrow.\nTogether with the team, you will look at how processes can be improved. Which recurring activities can we automate? Where can AI support analysis or controls? And how can we make better use of our financial systems?\nFor us, innovation is not about using technology simply because it is new. It is equally suitable if you have already gained some initial work experience and are ready for your next step.\nWe are looking for someone who:\nhas completed an MBO+/HBO-level degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy or a comparable field;\nhas gained some practical experience in Finance or Accountancy through an internship, graduation project or first job;\nworks accurately and in a structured way and is interested in understanding what is behind the numbers;\nhas strong analytical skills and enjoys investigating and solving problems;\ntakes initiative and is comfortable asking questions;\nis confident using Excel and comfortable learning new systems and technologies;\nis interested in AI and automation;\ncommunicates well in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing.\nDo you not yet have experience in every area listed above?
