You will build custom visualization components and libraries, optimize performance and scalability, and integrate visuals with production systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and mission stakeholders to ensure visualizations are accurate, performant, and insightful, and you will mentor/lead other visualization specialists/developers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign & Engineering\nDesign and develop advanced, custom data visualizations using cutting-edge technologies and frameworks.\nBuild and maintain reusable visualization components/libraries that meet Navy mission requirements.\nOptimize visualizations and data-access paths for performance, scalability, and accessibility.\nData at Scale\nWork with large datasets and real-time/streaming data; implement responsive visual patterns and efficient state management.\nDevelop and sustain data visualization pipelines (ingest → transform → serve), coordinating with data engineering for governed sources.\nIntegration & Productization\nIntegrate visualizations with enterprise systems, dashboards, apps, and APIs (e.g., Databricks SQL, Snowflake, Jupiter/Qlik, Power BI/Tableau).\nEstablish semantic layers and metric definitions to keep visuals consistent and explainable across tools and consumers.\nAnalysis, Quality & Collaboration\nPerform exploratory analysis to identify visualization opportunities and data stories.\nCollaborate with data scientists/engineers to ensure data quality, lineage, and accuracy in published visuals.\nMentor and lead visualization specialists/developers; conduct code reviews and uphold design standards.\nStandards & Documentation\nMaintain visualization style guides, best practices, accessibility patterns, and governance alignment.\nDocument processes, components, and methodologies for repeatable delivery and sustainment.\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n5+ years designing, developing, and implementing complex, interactive data visualizations.\nStrong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or R.\nProficiency with visualization libraries such as D3.js, Plotly, Bokeh (and comparable frameworks).\nHands-on experience with data manipulation/transformation (e.g., Pandas, dplyr).\nProficiency with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and query optimization for BI/visual workloads.\nExperience delivering on cloud/analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI), and integrating visuals into governed Navy environments (e.g., Jupiter/Advana, Snowflake IL5) preferred.\nStrong problem-solving, analytical skills, and an ability to translate complex information into clear, intuitive visuals.\nExcellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.\nEducation & Certifications:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.\nRelevant certifications in visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) or cloud analytics are a plus.\n Security Clearance:\nActive DoW SECRET clearance required.\nSalary: $120k+ to align with education and experience.\nApplicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. \nIgnite Digital is a Small Business committed to providing exceptional service to government agencies at competitive prices.
