Ignite Digital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Computer Engineer IV to support a US Navy software maintenance project. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong experience in software maintenance, and a proven background supporting complex DoW solutions. This role requires a professional who thrives in Agile environments and is committed to continuous technical growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide senior-level engineering and scientific support to the project.
- Perform complex software maintenance activities across US Navy-related systems and solutions.
- Support development, enhancement, and sustainment of software applications within DoW C4ISR, logistics, maintenance, or other relevant operational environments.
- Apply Agile software methodologies and principles in daily development, maintenance, and integration tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, improve, and optimize software systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, participate in design reviews, and ensure compliance with project and DoD standards.
- Work closely with leadership, stakeholders, and the COR to meet mission objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in one of the following fields:
- Engineering
- Physics
- Network Security
- Information Systems
- Computer Science
Candidate must be working toward one or more of the following (to be completed within 1.5 years of assuming duties), unless COR-approved alternatives apply:
- Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)
- Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
- Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD)
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
- Sun Certified Professional (SCP)
- Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Certified SAFe/Agile Software Engineer
- Certified SAFe DevOps Practitioner
- Certified SAFe Architect
- AWS Foundational, Associate, or Professional certifications
Experience Requirements:
- Fourteen (14) years of experience in software maintenance with Masters’ degree.
- Ten (10) years of experience in software maintenance with a Bachelor's degree.
- Five (5) years of technical experience supporting complex software applications and solutions.
- One (1) year of container experience.
- DoD8570/DoD8140 Compliance (Level II or Level III)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner.
- Experience with DoW C4ISR, logistics, maintenance, or business systems strongly preferred; other relevant industry experience supporting complex enterprise solutions may be accepted with COR approval.
- Demonstrated experience executing Agile software methodologies and principles.
- All required experience may be achieved simultaneously.
Clearance:
- Active Department of the Navy (DoN) SECRET clearance required.
- Candidates without the required clearance cannot be considered.
Salary: $120k+ to align with education & experience.
