If you’re ready to bring your talent to a team shaping the future of entertainment, your next big move starts here - www.igt.com.\nPosition Overview\nWe are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with a strong focus on Linux device driver development, embedded firmware, and low-level system software.\nThe team is looking for someone comfortable working close to the hardware, debugging at board level, and developing low-level software rather than application-layer development.\nResponsabilities\nDesign, implement, unit test and support Linux device drivers for a variety of legacy and cutting-edge technologies\nDesign, implement, unit test and support low-level firmware for a variety of embedded products, i.e. Microcontrollers\nModify key kernel subsystems to facilitate novel hardware capabilities\nCollaborate with the hardware engineering team on new embedded product designs\nInstall, boot and test Linux on new hardware\nSupport customers’ field issues as required\nParticipate in all aspects of the product design life cycle including system architecture, design, development, and verification\nDocument design and results\nWork individually and with a team to complete tasks\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\nDegree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field\nAt least 8 years of relevant professional experience\nExpert in C, C++ programming languages\nLinux Kernel and Driver programming experience\nExperience with real-time and multithreaded applications\nLow-level firmware programming experience targeting a microcontroller architectures (ARM, 8051, other)\nExperience with board-level debugging; use of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, USB/Serial protocol capture tools\nAbility to clearly capture complex technical concepts in writing for both technical and general audiences\nProven analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in English\nIn-depth understanding of drivers, interrupt handling routines, and kernel subsystems\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience\nWorking knowledge of applied cryptography\nExperience applying principles of cyber security to operational technology and embedded systems\nDesigning software systems running on multiple platform types\nSoftware systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, test scripts and tools\nAbility to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels\nIGT is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that reflects the global communities and customers we serve.
