This role involves leading a team of accountants, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, managing financial statements, budgeting, taxation, audits, and cash flow while ensuring adherence to accounting standards and statutory requirements. You will work closely with the Senior Manager - Finance and the leadership team to strengthen financial processes, optimize financial performance, and contribute to the overall financial health and growth of the organization. What You'll Do\nAccounting Operations & Team Management:\nSupervise, mentor, and manage the finance team, providing guidance to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion of financial activities.\nOversee daily accounting operations, ensuring adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and the mercantile system of accounting.\nManage accounting transactions and financial records using Tally, ensuring accuracy and completeness.\nFinancial Reporting & Budgeting:\nPrepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.\nCollaborate with the leadership team to develop financial budgets, monitor income and expenses, and ensure effective financial planning.\nConduct periodic budget variance analysis, identify deviations, and provide actionable insights to management.\nPrepare Management Information System (MIS) reports and financial dashboards to support strategic decision-making.\nTaxation & Statutory Compliance:\nEnsure timely preparation, review, and filing of statutory returns, including GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and Professional Tax (PT).\nMaintain compliance with applicable direct and indirect taxation laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.\nSupport income tax-related matters, including tax computations, documentation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.\nMonitor statutory deadlines and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance and minimize financial risks.\nCash Flow Management, Reconciliation & Audit:\nAssist in managing organizational cash flow, working capital requirements, and financial liquidity.\nReview and reconcile balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, inventory, and other financial records.\nCoordinate internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation, addressing audit queries, and liaising with auditors.\nOversee expense management, vendor payments, and financial disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.\nFinancial Finalisation & Process Management:\nAssist in preparing and monitoring run-rate sheets to track financial performance and operational expenses.\nSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual finalisation of accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial closure.\nReview salary calculations and coordinate payroll-related financial activities as required.\nIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen financial controls, and enhance operational efficiency.\nAdditional Duties:\nSupport company secretarial and regulatory documentation requirements as needed.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve finance-related queries and ensure smooth financial operations.\nProvide financial insights and recommendations to support organizational planning and business growth.\nPerform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, aligned with the broad scope of the position.\nRequirements Who You Are\nMust-Have:\nCA-qualified candidates with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, or graduates in Finance and Accounting with 5-8 years of relevant experience.\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, financial management, and the mercantile system of accounting.\nHands-on experience in managing accounting operations, financial reconciliations, budgeting, and finalisation of accounts.\nThorough knowledge of statutory compliance requirements, particularly GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and Professional Tax.\nProficiency in accounting software, preferably Tally.\nExcellent numerical, mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.\nStrong leadership capabilities with experience supervising accounting teams and managing multiple financial priorities.\nEffective communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.\nMust be currently residing in Mumbai.\nShould Have:\nExperience managing audits, coordinating with auditors, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.\nPractical understanding of cash flow management, working capital planning, and financial budgeting.\nExperience preparing MIS reports, financial statements, variance analyses, and run-rate sheets.\nKnowledge of payroll processes, salary calculations, expense management, and vendor payments.\nAbility to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to strengthen financial controls.\nNice to Have:\nPrior experience working in the EdTech or education industry.\nExperience working with a reputed accounting firm or a growth-oriented organization.\nFamiliarity with company secretarial requirements and corporate regulatory compliance.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.\nBenefits Why Join IIDE?
