If so, this could be the opportunity for you.\nWe are now looking for a Product Engineer to join our Category Area Metal, Plastics & Float Glass (MPFG) team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where you will work closely with suppliers and colleagues across the value chain to develop products that make a difference for the many people.\n As Product Engineer, you will lead the technical implementation of new products, product moves and improvements to the existing range. You will translate product requirements into robust product and production solutions, secure clear documentation, and work closely with suppliers and cross-functional IKEA partners to deliver quality, compliance, scalability and customer value.\nYour key responsibilities\nLead product development, industrialisation, product moves and product improvements from a Category perspective.\nSecure that product and packaging solutions meet defined requirements, tolerances, quality expectations and applicable standards.\nLead product and production risk assessments, including FMEA, and ensure critical-to-quality requirements are reflected in the product documentation.\nPlan, coordinate and communicate scope, progress, risks and changes with suppliers and relevant internal stakeholders.\nDrive corrective actions and product adaptations in response to quality deviations, safety concerns or customer-related issues.\nAssess suppliers' product-development capability, guide gap-closing actions and support continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency, quality and waste reduction.\nBuild effective networks and collaborate across business teams, development partners and suppliers to enable scalable solutions.\n You combine sound engineering judgement with a practical, hands-on approach. You can move confidently between product details and the wider business impact, and you create progress by involving the right people at the right time.\nUniversity degree in Engineering or a corresponding technical discipline.\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience in product development and industrialization within a production environment.\nExperience with relevant production technologies, materials, product construction, testing and technical documentation.\nKnowledge of Total Quality Management, continuous improvement and structured risk-assessment methods such as FMEA.\nProject leadership experience, with the ability to manage scope, time, plans, stakeholders and change.\nWorking knowledge of 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks is preferred.\nStrong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions from a holistic customer, supplier and business perspective.\nAbility to work effectively with and through others in a process-oriented, cross-functional and international environment.\nGood written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese.\n The selection process will take place continuously, so please send in your application in English as soon as possible but latest 06 November 2026.\nPlease note that we will be interviewing continuously, which means that we may close the application process earlier than stated if we find the right candidates.
