Job Description

Reporting to the Director of HSE, the role will support manufacturing operations across North America. The Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist is primarily responsible for the consistent implementation, management and monitoring of all corporate health, safety, & environmental programs across multiple locations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary corporate HSE contact for assigned manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Site HSE Leaders to provide technical guidance, coaching, and support.
  • Facilitate monthly discussions with Plant Managers to drive HSE performance, risk reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Review site HSE metrics, identify trends, and develop action plans to improve performance and organizational maturity.
  • Support the implementation and sustainability of corporate HSE programs and standards.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and organizational learning.
  • Assist sites with complex risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
  • Promote best practices in risk management and injury prevention across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead or participate in corporate HSE initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Develop content and materials for corporate HSE meetings, presentations, communications, and reporting.
  • Support strategic HSE projects aligned with organizational objectives and operational excellence goals.
  • Conduct health, safety, environmental, and loss prevention audits across manufacturing facilities.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Support sites in maintaining compliance with applicable occupational health and safety, environmental, fire code, and industry standards.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and government officials regarding inspections, investigations, and compliance matters.
  • Track corrective actions and verify effective closure of audit and inspection findings.
  • Develop HSE knowledge and competency levels across operations.
  • Provide formal and informal coaching to HSE professionals, supervisors, and leaders.
  • Support implementation of behavior-based safety and operational risk management programs.
  • Deliver specialized training and facilitate workshops as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of HSE experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations.
  • Requires a minimum of a BA/BS degree in occupational safety, science, engineering or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience conducting audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Experience leading projects from concept development through implementation.
  • Strong understanding of management systems, compliance requirements, and operational risk management.
  • CRSP or CSP Professional Designation(Preferred)
  • This positions requires approximate 25% travel to facilities in Canada/US.
