Spring semester begins 1/19/27 and concludes 4/29/27. Instructor may be located on-site in Utqiaġvik, AK or deliver via synchronous means (Zoom, etc.) and on Iḷisaġvik’s LMS, Moodle.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPrepares and maintains updated instructional materials, course outlines, and curriculum.\nUtilizes student LMS (Moodle - MyCampus).\nDevelops and submits current course syllabus, using the college template.\nPrepares administrative documents, such as student withdrawals and attendance.\nEvaluates student performance and timely submits midterm and final grades to the registrar.\nMaintains office hours (in-person, telephonically, or online).\nParticipates in professional development as necessary to be proficient in the college’s current technologies and learning platform.\nComplies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:\nDemonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in the subject area.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nDemonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment.\nDemonstrated teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.\nDemonstrated experience in curriculum development.\nDemonstrated experience with distance delivery.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment background check.\nDemonstrated knowledge in post-secondary educational systems.\nDemonstrated knowledge in North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions.\nDemonstrated knowledge in Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Required]:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in field of study or other relevant discipline.\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [Preferred]:\nDoctorate degree or equivalent in the area of instruction.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
