We maintain an entrepreneurial spirit, where creativity, innovative problem-solving, and learning agility drive our day-to-day actions.\nWhat you will be doing: \nJob Summary / Purpose \nWe are seeking a Senior or Staff iOS Engineer to join the eAccounts Mobile Development team as an engineer on our iOS platform. In this role, you will help set technical direction for the eAccounts mobile app, used by millions of students, faculty, and staff to manage their campus accounts across university campuses, while mentoring engineers and raising the bar on engineering quality across the team. \nWho you will work with: \nYou will work closely with the eAccounts Mobile Development team, reporting to Shane O'Connor. Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and QA, and regularly engage with other senior stakeholders across the wider engineering organization. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, though you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach less experienced engineers across the organisation. \nKey Responsibilities and Duties \nDesign, develop, test, and maintain the application using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit, with a strong command of the application architecture across the stack. \nCollaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build and ship features end-to-end, representing iOS engineering in cross-functional planning.\nPerform code reviews and design reviews, set and uphold team best practices, and mentor other engineers through feedback and pairing. \nWork with modern iOS tools and libraries (Swift Data, Async/Await, Combine), and evaluate emerging Apple technologies for their applicability to our platform.\nDesign and develop larger, more complex system components and features, working independently with limited oversight. \nMonitor app performance and usage metrics to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues, ensuring the application meets performance, quality, and responsiveness standards. \nDrive improvements to development processes, CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions & XCode Cloud) and tooling, and participate in interviews for new engineering candidates.\nStrong understanding of Swift Package Manager and package development\nStay current with the latest iOS development trends, tools, and technologies, and bring that knowledge back to raise the bar for the team. \nWhat You’ll Bring: \nRequired Skills and Qualifications \nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. \nExperience: 5+ years of professional experience in iOS development, with a demonstrated track record of technical ownership. \nStrong knowledge of Swift and SwiftUI, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code. \nSolid understanding of XCTest, UIKit, SwiftUI, Apple Frameworks and programmatic UIs. \nIn-depth understanding of object-oriented and protocol-oriented programming principles. \nExperience with RESTful APIs, JSON and Network proxies. \nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and code collaboration platforms (e.g., GitHub). \nExperience writing automated tests using XCTest and the iOS UI Test kit (XCUITest) to drive UI automation, ensuring application quality and preventing regressions. \nUnderstanding of the full mobile development life cycle, including deployment and app store submission. \nExcellent communication and fluency in written and spoken English are required. \nThe ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into structured, actionable work tasks. \nDemonstrated experience leading the design and development of larger, more complex system components with limited supervision. \nExperience coaching or mentoring other engineers, and comfortable leading code and design reviews. \nNice to haves: \nFamiliarity with Reactive Programming (e.g. Combine). \nExperience maintaining and improving legacy codebase, with a focus on refactoring and best practices for modernization. \nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools, e.g. GitHub Actions, Xcode Cloud. \nFamiliarity with WCAG compliance guidelines and accessibility UX best\nExperience owning product architecture and system-level design decisions, working with limited oversight from management. \nTrack record of influencing engineering standards, practices, or procedures beyond a single team. \nExperience mentoring engineers at multiple levels of experience, including other senior engineers. \nCompetencies and Behaviors \nRole Competencies \nTechnical Ownership: takes accountability for the design, quality, and long-term health of the systems they build. \nMentorship & Coaching: raises the bar for the team by developing other engineers through code review, pairing, and feedback. \nCross-Functional Collaboration: works effectively with product, design, and backend partners to ship end-to\nCommunication: explains technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nAdaptability & Growth Mindset: adjusts to shifting priorities and ambiguity, and continuously builds their own skills. \nInnovation: stays current with emerging technologies and looks for opportunities to improve the platform and team practices. \nWhat you get when you join our team: \nCollaborative and supportive work environment \nOngoing professional development and training opportunities \nHybrid working model \nRegular social, sporting, and community events \nPrivate Health Insurance \nDental Insurance \nMatched Pension Contribution \n25 Days Annual Leave \nComprehensive Employee Assistance Program \nThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required.
