This role partners with multiple Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams, along with Quality, Audit, and Illumina Digital Services teams to ensure inventory accuracy, organization, and analysis. Responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures and material control systems activities related to material control and inventory control functions.\nScope of Responsibilities:\nEstablishes strategic directions and goals for Inventory Control functions.\nImplements operational objectives and work plans.\nDetermines resources needed to meet goals and delegates assignments to subordinates.\nDevelops, modifies, and executes company policies, procedures, and work instructions that affect immediate operations and may have enterprise-wide effect.\nEnsures Inventory Control and SOX compliance with cycle counting, inventory adjustments, materials requiring segregation, and 3PL inventory reconciliations.\nWorks on complex assignments where problem solving requires conceptual thinking as all factors may not be clearly defined.\nRegularly interacts with lower and higher levels of management on matters concerning functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.\nCollaborates with Warehouse, Logistics, Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Internal and External Audit, IDS, and others to review, update, and improve processes, data, and KPIs.\nApplies knowledge to influence other stakeholders on desired departmental outcomes.\nInteracts with the ability to persuade others in sensitive and complex situations while preserving relationships.\nLeads efforts to drive continuous improvement with inventory accuracy and compliance.\nAdvocates for system changes and enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity.\nEnsures system stock discrepancies are addressed and resolved timely.\nFrequently advises team(s) on moderately complex matters and exercises supervision in terms of budget, methods, and staffing.\nOversees experienced professionals and is responsible for a subordinate supervisor and team.\nBuilds and develops a highly effective & engaged team.\nListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.\nRequirements:\nTypically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, with 3-6 years of Management experience.\nExtensive knowledge and experience in inventory controls and inventory management.\nComprehensive knowledge of distribution & warehousing processes, controls and best practices.\nStrong knowledge of Logistics, Manufacturing, Quality, and audit processes and activities.\nStrong understanding and experience with ERP and WMS systems (SAP preferred).\nStrong knowledge & experience of medical device regulations a plus.\nGood understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Principles.\nProficient with business systems, data management and Microsoft office.\nUses an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness to develop and/or apply highly advanced concepts, principles, standards, or techniques to solve challenging business problems.\nAbility to lead & develop a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.\nAbility to exercise sound judgement within established guidelines.\nThe estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, Distribution / Inventory Control role based in the United States of America is: $141,600 - $212,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long-term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
