Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.Position Summary:\nThe Sr. Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal material availability for Illumina's instrument and spare parts portfolio by balancing supply, demand, inventory, and lead-times to support manufacturing, service, and customer needs.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and execute material plans to support instrument manufacturing, service, repair, and refurbishment operations.\nMonitor material availability and proactively communicate shortages or surplus to prevent supply disruptions in the network.\nManage inventory levels to balance customer service, operational readiness, and inventory investment.\nReview and recommend updates to planning parameters, lead times, and master data.\nAnalyze demand and supply changes, communicate risks and mitigation plans.\nPartner with Procurement to resolve delivery issues and improve material availability.\nSupport product lifecycle transitions from a material readiness perspective.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Service, Quality, Logistics, and Supply Planning.\nDrive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory imbalances (surplus or shortage).\nIdentify and implement process improvements that enhance planning efficiency, inventory performance, and service levels.\nRequirements:\nMinimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree within Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Life Science disciplines \nDirect experience with supply and demand processes including forecasts, receipt and delivery processes, inventory reports, accuracy validation procedures, cycle counts and audit procedures is preferred\nExperience with ERP and MRP systems, preferably SAP\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and drive actionable insights \nKnowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint\nStrong written and oral communication skills, including ability to craft messages and presentations for senior leadership. \nAbility to work with cross-cultural organizations and groups, remaining attentive to ideas, recognizing responsibilities, and actively participating with others to accomplish assignments and achieve desired goals.\nAPICS CPIM, CSCP or other professional certifications preferred\nListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.\nThe estimated base salary range for the Sr Materials Planner role based in the United States of America is: $82,500 - $123,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long-term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
