We are seeking a highly experienced Cylinder Head Technician who brings deep hands-on expertise in cylinder head inspection, machining, preparation, assembly, and testing.\nThis is not an entry-level assembly position. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience working with high-performance engine cylinder heads, demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, and have the ability to independently evaluate component condition, quality, and serviceability. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of internal combustion engines, precision measurement techniques, machining operations, and quality standards associated with professional motorsports and high-performance engine applications.\nThe Cylinder Head Technician will be responsible for the complete inspection, preparation, assembly, testing, and documentation of cylinder head components while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, accuracy, and reliability expected at Ilmor.\nEssential Job Functions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):\nDisassembly, cleaning, quality checking, and crack testing using nondestructive methods\nMake quality decisions based on known life/usage and condition of the parts\nMeasuring, preparing, re-assembling and testing of various components to a defined standard and specification\nFollow engine and component record keeping procedures\nInspection of cylinder heads and components, and verification they are to the appropriate standard\nMachining of components and assembly to desired standards\nMust have full knowledge of measuring equipment and be very detail and service oriented\nRequired Qualifications:\nProven experience working with Cylinder Heads.\nStrong understanding of Internal Combustion Engines\nPassion for motorsports and racing\nDemonstrated attention to detail and organization skills\nHigh School diploma or equivalent, Technical Degree (e.g. Associate's or Certification Program) strongly preferred\nKnowledge\nEnglish Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.\nEngineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.\nProduction and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.\nSkills & Abilities\nTime Management - Managing one's own time\nCritical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.\nProblem Sensitivity & Intuition - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
