Position Description:

As a Marine Development Engineer at Ilmor, you will play a key role in the development of next-generation marine powertrain technologies, working hands-on with combustion engines, electric propulsion systems, military programs and advanced electronic controls.

Essential Job Functions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities):
- Design, build, and operate tests/apparatuses required for development programs
- Create, organize, and execute DVP&Rs for products in development
- Conduct thorough testing and certification to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Conceptualize and assembly prototype designs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate designs on boats
- Work hands-on to build prototypes and troubleshoot issues during the development process
- Interface directly with suppliers regarding quality and supply chain management
- Document all design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference
- Perform a variety of tasks as needed in a small company environment, contributing to different aspects of the business

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience with electrical engineering, test engineering, or prototype design
- Proven experience with instrumentation equipment and executing verification tests
- Strong understanding of marine powertrain systems and their electrical components
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly
- Experience with industry-standard testing and certification processes
- Familiarity with marine industry standards and regulations
- Experience with CAD software
- Understanding of PCB layouts and ability to troubleshoot PCB problem
- Knowledge of power electronics and motor control systems
- Hands-on experience in building and testing prototypes including soldering and electronic assembly
Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
