Scalable backend services, security-critical design and a platform that keeps evolving with new AI-driven capabilities.\nWe are now looking for a Backend Development Lead to join our Software organization in Oulu. In this role, you will guide a backend team building the secure, reliable and scalable services at the core of iLOQ 5 Series+, while staying hands-on with the code yourself. This is a role for an experienced software professional who enjoys solving complex problems, takes ownership beyond writing code and wants to influence both technical solutions and the way software is developed.\nWhat you'll do\nAs our Backend Development Lead, you will guide the day-to-day development work of a Backend software team while remaining closely involved in technical delivery.\nYou will:\nLead and coordinate the team’s backend development activities\n\nSupport the team in turning product and business priorities into clear, achievable technical plans and predictable delivery without losing sight of quality and long-term maintainability\n\nParticipate hands-on in the design and implementation of backend services and APIs\n\nFacilitate technical discussions and help the team make well-considered architectural and implementation decisions\n\nPromote end-to-end ownership, including development, testing, releasing, monitoring and maintaining services\n\nDevelop engineering practices related to code quality, reviews, test automation, CI/CD, security and observability, including the effective and responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools\n\nWork closely with Product Owners, Software Architects, Test Leads, cloud specialists and other stakeholders\n\nIdentify dependencies, risks and blockers, and drive their resolution together with the relevant stakeholders\n\nCoach team members, share knowledge and create an environment where people can learn and take responsibility\n\nWhat you'll bring\nTo succeed in this role, we expect you to have:\nStrong professional experience in backend software development, including leading, coordinating or facilitating the work of a development team\n\nHands-on experience with C# and .NET or comparable backend technologies\n\nExperience with cloud-based software development, preferably in AWS environments\n\nA good understanding of microservice architectures, APIs and distributed systems, databases, integrations and cloud-native development\n\nFamiliarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing and modern DevOps practices\n\nThe ability to combine technical considerations with customer, product and business needs\n\nThe confidence to make progress in a complex environment and help others do the same\n\nA proactive and collaborative working style with strong communication skills, including professional written and spoken English\n\nAbility and willingness to coach team members.\n\nExperience in any of the following is considered an advantage:\nSecure or business-critical software systems\n\nMonitoring, observability and service reliability\n\nLeading modernization or cloud transformation initiatives\n\nWorking across software, hardware and cloud boundaries\n\nApplying AI tools and agentic workflows in software engineering\n\nCoaching developers or facilitating technical communities.\n\nWhat you'll get\nYou will build products that end up in buildings all over the world and ease the everyday lives of our customers.
