We are looking for a Technical Connectivity Manager/Specialist based in Sydney, to engage in day-to-day interactions with Chinese brokers, technology providers and other partners, with a specific focus on Technology.\nWorking under the guidance of senior management, the Head of Business Strategy and Development and the Head of China Strategic Partnerships, you will collect and triage requirements from IMC's technical, operational, compliance and legal teams, and channel them into clear, well-managed conversations with external partners. In doing so, you help secure the reliable market access and infrastructure that underpin IMC's edge in China.\nThis is a highly cross-functional role, sitting at the intersection of trading, technology, legal, risk, compliance and other operations teams.\nYour Core Responsibilities: \nEngage in day-to-day interactions with Chinese brokers, technology providers such as data centers and telecommunication firms, and other vendors, ensuring every incoming and outgoing request is managed and followed up\nCollect and triage requirements from internal technical (development, network, infra), legal, compliance and other Ops teams, translating them into clear asks for external partners\nCommunicate with relevant external stakeholders on these topics and drive each through to closure. Examples include:Manage leased line and market data line orders with carriers and data centres - provisioning, changes, scheduled maintenance and cutovers\nCoordinate rack space requests and quotes with data centres and telcos, with the support of our network team, including the coordination with our internal legal, compliance, tax and finance teams\nCoordinate with data centres on the delivery, installation and decommissioning of servers and network equipment, working with our infrastructure team from request through to deployment\nDocument and assess the impact of changing exchange and broker rules on trading and technology, and ensure appropriate follow-up\n\nBuild and maintain trusted working relationships with day-to-day counterparts across Chinese brokers, technology providers and other vendors. Over time, proactively identify opportunities to improve IMC’s infrastructure and network setup, in close collaboration with our trading, infrastructure, networking and development teams\nYour Skills and Experience: \nFluent written and spoken English and Mandarin is a must\n5+ years of experience in one of the following: an international or local financial institution (e.g. bank, (prime) broker or exchange) with significant exposure to trading technology; corporate development within a proprietary trading firm with significant exposure to technology; or a technology provider to trading firms with a solid understanding of physical infrastructure\nStrong understanding of technology and physical infrastructure used by global trading firms\nPrior working experience related to Chinese financial markets is highly preferred\nBased in Sydney Comfortable engaging day-to-day counterparts at exchanges, brokers and vendor Strong sense of ownership - able to track multiple workstreams to closure and know when to escalate\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders\nSelf-motivated and commercially minded, comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, while always maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity\nAbout Us\nIMC is a research-driven trading firm where quantitative modeling, machine learning, and engineering shape how modern markets are traded.
