This role is based in Secaucus, NJ, and requires travel to local colocation facilities.\nYour Core Responsibilities:\nOversee the lifecycle of physical servers, network devices, and other IT infrastructure components\nPerform installation, configuration, and upkeep of server and network components in our data centers\nPlan and implement efficient rack layouts, cabling schemes, and patching schedules to optimize data center operations\nDiagnose hardware issues, coordinate with vendors for repairs or replacements (RMA process), and ensure timely resolution\nHandle incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate hardware inventory, and manage stock levels of IT components\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation of physical infrastructure, cabling layouts, rack configurations, and associated processes\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with hardware vendors, colocation partners, and remote hands teams to ensure efficient operations\nMaintain office IT infrastructure, including hardware and network systems\nYour Skills and Experience:\n5+ years of hands-on experience in data center engineering\nStrong understanding of server hardware, network devices, and data storage systems\nKnowledge of network cabling, fiber optics, and optical transceivers\nExperience with fiber optic testing and cleaning is required\nBasic knowledge of Linux operating systems and networking protocols\nCCNA certification is a plus\nProven experience in racking, cabling, and working with data center facilities management tools (power, cooling, etc.)\nFamiliarity with basic scripting in Bash and Python within a Linux environment is a plus\nStrong ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing requirements\nA collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often with minimal supervision\nAbility to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 60 pounds\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required\nA valid driver’s license is required for travel between facilities\nThe Base Salary range for the role is included below.
