You will be part of a team with a healthcare and MEP focus that also supports education work, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.\nAt a Glance\nLocation: Minneapolis, MN\nDiscipline: Electrical\nMarkets: Healthcare; MEP\nOwnership: 100% employee-owned (ESOP)\nTravel: Up to 5%\nWork Schedule: Full-time hybrid\nSponsorship: Not available\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist in the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings using engineering software and tools.\nCreate detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.\nInteract with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.\nBuild and maintain client relationships through professional communication.\nSupport consulting projects as part of a project team, including project planning and scheduling tasks to help meet deadlines and objectives.\nDocument design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.\nAnalyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.\nParticipate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements.\nStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.\nPrioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work, identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.\nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired\nExperience\n3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry\nSkills and Abilities\nKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications\nStrong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings\nKnowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or similar; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; familiarity with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu; and proficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and CTC Revit Add-In Tools\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment\nAttention to detail and problem-solving skills\nEagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges\nAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups\nProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook\nAbility to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays\nPreferred\nEducation and Experience\nAssociates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred\nAbout the Team\nBroad MEP-focused portfolio with a strong emphasis on education and healthcare work.
