This position will have a broad scope of accounting responsibilities aimed at maintaining the integrity, accuracy and completeness of the organization’s financial records.\nEssential Functions\nOversee and/or perform the review of journal entries, reconciliations and reports for accuracy and completeness across multiple areas (i.e. cash, prepaids, accruals, leases, etc.)\nAnalyze balance sheet and income statement variances and ensure fluctuations have appropriate justifications\nReview of monthly expenses and contract listing\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results for all related income statement and balance sheet accounts\nLead the month end close processes ensuring financial transactions and records comply with US GAAP/company policies and all income statement and balance sheet account reconciliations are completed\nEnsure SOX compliance across accounting functions as part of the day-to-day operational accounting responsibilities.\nContribute to process improvements in company activities to enhance accounting/finance operational efficiency inclusive of training initiatives.\nManage internal and external audit requests providing necessary documentation and support and facilitating the resolution of any identified control deficiencies.\nSupport internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and prevent fraud\nPerform ad-hoc and cross-functional duties and/or projects, as assigned, to support business needs and provide developmental opportunities\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.\n6+ years of professional experience in accounting roles required\nDeep experience with GL journal entries and reconciliations required.\nCertified Public Accountant, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.\nExperience in a life sciences company preferred.\nExperience leading a small team is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nComprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting best practices\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, ADOBE) and accounting software packages (Microsoft D365, FloQast, Wdesk)\nExcellent understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management\nStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail; able to identify and justify fluctuations\nInnovative thinking skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement\nStrong organizational abilities and adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously\nExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills\nHighly adaptable, able to effectively navigate evolving team dynamics\nWorking Environment / Physical Environment\nThis position works onsite in El Segundo, CA.\nRegular work schedule is Monday - Friday, within standard business hours. The annual base pay range for this position is below.
