This position will manage accountants as well as processes relating but not limited to general accounting accruals, cash, intercompany, related party, and prepaids, as well as foreign exchange accounting.\nEssential Functions\nReview of monthly/quarterly journal entries and reconciliations. Ranging from leases, accounts payable and receivables, accruals, prepaid expenses, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany and other areas as assigned\nManage the day-to-day activities of the team to include the hiring and training of new team members, coaching employees and monitoring performance\nPerform and review balance sheet and income statement variance analysis\nPrepare quarter end footnote disclose support\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial results for all department expenses\nManage the monthly close processes in FloQast (both checklists and reconciliation updates) and Workiva (maintenance for monthly variance analysis review)\nOversee intercompany Accounting including intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and settlement balances. Support enhancements to financial processes related to expenditures/ prepayments and EXUS, aiming for increased efficiency and scalability\nManage the internal and external audit requests\nSupport internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and prevent fraud\nSupport enhancements to financial processes aiming for increased efficiency and scalability.\nRemain current with GAAP standards and assist in the assessment and implementation of significant new accounting guidance and policies across the organization\nPerform ad-hoc and cross-functional duties and/or projects, as assigned, to support business needs and provide developmental opportunities.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in accounting required.\n6+ years of progressive, professional experience in finance roles required.\nDeep experience with GL journal entries and reconciliations required.\nExperience in foreign currency revaluation/translation preferred.\nCertified Public Accountant, or equivalent professional certification is preferred\nExperience with a life sciences company preferred.\nExperience leading a small team is a plus.\nPublic companies experience is a plus.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nComprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting best practices\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, ADOBE) and accounting software packages (Microsoft D365)\nStrong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail; able to identify and justify fluctuations\nInnovative thinking skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement\nStrong organizational abilities and adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously\nSystems knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 or other ERP system is preferred\nExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills\nundefined\nWorking Environment / Physical Environment\nThis position works in El Segundo, CA.\nRegular work schedule is Monday - Friday, within standard business hours. The annual base pay range for this position is below.
