We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will operate various hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment to fabricate and join workpieces. Your expertise in welding techniques such as MIG and Stick will contribute to the successful completion of projects while maintaining the highest safety standards.\nShifts/Hours:\n1st Shift Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm (OT may be required)\n2nd Shift Mon-Fri 2:30pm-11pm (OT may be required)\n3rd shift Sun-Thurs 9:30pm-6am (OT may be required)\nWe offer:\n5 Days of PTO\n6 Paid Holidays\nUp to 50% of health insurance premiums paid by Impact\nAccess to a retirement plan, financial fitness, and employee savings programs\nKey Responsibilities:\nAchieve and maintain internal welding certification in line with ISO, AAR, and other regulatory standards.\nGather materials and weld them into finished products according to specifications.\nSet up components for welding, including cutting materials with powered saws to precise measurements.\nPrepare parts for welding using angle grinders and other hand tools.\nInterpret welding blueprints, assembly instructions, drawings, and bills of material.\nMaintain welding proficiency and comply with Progress Rail QSP 4.9 and relevant local and international standards.\nUtilize measuring devices accurately, including tape measures, scales, and calipers, to measure and record inspection data.\nOperate pneumatic and electric tools, as well as overhead cranes, for transporting components.\nAdvanced Responsibilities:Master various welding techniques including pipe welding, GMAW, and SMAW in all positions.\nObtain certification in recognized welding standards such as AWS D1.1.\nPerform single and multi-pass welds in diverse positions.\nConduct preventative and basic maintenance on welding machines and equipment.\nTrain and mentor less experienced welders.\nForklift certification is preferred.\nOpportunity to be trained on advanced welding machinery, including Robot Welders.\nQualifications:Technical certifications may substitute for experience.\nPreferred certifications in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW.\n Preferred Skills:Certified Welder with knowledge of various welding techniques (90% MIG, 10% Stick, TIG, and Flux Core).\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.\nPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in tight, confined spaces.\nPerform physical activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including climbing, reaching, and kneeling.\nVisual and auditory acuity to operate welding tools safely, with proper PPE.\nWork in various environments, including exposure to temperature extremes and inclement weather.\nSafety Commitment:This position is safety-sensitive and
