The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties.\nThis job description reflects the current assignment of essential functions and is not meant to be all-inclusive. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time and may be modified to reasonably accommodate an individual with a disability or for other reasons.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nKnows all warehouse areas, including locations, forklifts, gas tanks, restrooms, warehouse supplies, docks, offices, and yards. \nPerforms forklift inspection and completes the checklist. \nComplies with proper dress code, including safety shoes, vest, and employee ID badge. \nReports to team leader and supervisor at the start or end of shift, and if any situation comes up. \nTake care of assigned equipment and keep both the work area and equipment clean. \nUnderstands loading and unloading processes. \nFor unloading, confirms trailer number and places safety devices (air lock and ramp placement). \nBegins unloading in the assigned area and scans the Work Order. \nVerifies quantity of packages against BOL, reports discrepancies and damages; records name, date, time, number of pallets received, location, and signs the BOL. \nPlaces yellow pallet ID labels by supplier according to the quantity of bundles. \nInspects material for damage; if found, places “Damage Material” labels and notes it on the BOL. \nReports any safety hazard or operational issue immediately to the supervisor or team lead. \nFor loading, scans properly according to the progress of loading (picking, staging, and audit). \nAlways follows the process and never scans on the floor. \nWhen damage is detected, it generates a damage report in Menu-Bodega, takes photographs showing reference number, part number, and the damage, and confirms with the MAPICS team for DDR ID. \nEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS\nHigh school diploma or GED. Preferred but not required\nSatisfactorily pass forklift and stand-up forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.\nForklift certification preferred but not required.\nMinimum 1 year experience as a forklift operator.\nLICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: A valid Forklift Operator Certification is preferred but not required. Any additional certifications related to equipment operation or safety standards are encouraged and may be considered when evaluating qualifications and experience\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nAbility to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.\nAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.\nAbility to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed outside having a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements, such as fumes, smoke or gases, dust, grease, and oils.
