Must be able to operate a forklift.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nCustomer Service\nPlace new bookings and route the shipment to meet service and maximize profit\nProblem solve with customers and vendors (airlines and pickup / delivery agents)\nServe as an additional point of communication for all customer service and documentation-related matters\nCoordinate freight movement throughout the life-cycle of each shipment while working closely with carriers and agents\nMonitor shipments from order entry through delivery to ensure on-time performance\nCorrespond with customers extensively via phone, e-mail and website\nAssist our employee drivers, agents, and carriers in obtaining critical information\nContribute to team effort by executing tasks delegated to you as needed\nManage and distribute a high volume of incoming calls and emails\nQuickly and reliably resolve logistics service issues with confidence, escalating to managers when necessary\nSupport new and existing customer accounts to foster business development\nBuild and maintain carrier relationships and trust through open and interactive communication to ensure successful transportation abilities\nPresent customers with effective, customized, cost-efficient transportation solutions to achieve service objectives\nPrepare quotes for customers and vendors\nFollow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies closely to achieve customer objectives\nOperations\nUnderstand and apply knowledge of unique freight handling characteristics and delivery requirements\nProvide a high level of accuracy in order documentation, be very detail-oriented\nSuggest improvements to business process and procedures when applicable\nPerform tasks such as gathering and analyzing data via excel spreadsheets\nScrutinize vendor invoices our accounting team deems questionable\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS\nFull Time + Overtime available: 1200 - 2100 EST (Mon-Fri)\nHard-working, team-oriented individual that thrives under pressure and against deadlines\nHolds self to the highest degree of personal integrity\nAble to multi-task and prioritize time and workload in a fast-paced environment\nSelf-motivated; able to work both independently and within a team environment\nDemonstrated time management, organizational skills and consistent follow-through\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nComputer literate with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, proprietary in-house software, and online applications\nGeographical knowledge of the U.S.\nStarting pay is $21.00/per hour.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nThe position is in an indoor, office environment, requires the ability to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors verbally and in writing, sit for periods of time, operate typical office equipment which requires seeing and the use of a keyboard.\nThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
