Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time and may be modified to reasonably accommodate an individual with a disability or for other reasons.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nOperates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.\n\nTransportsloads safely andin a timely mannerover requiredroutes, obeying all traffic laws andobservingall safety regulations.\n\nDeftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.\n\nMaintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation toshippingoffice or otherappropriate staffwhen delivery route is complete.\n\nFacilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air;reportsmaintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor.\n\nArranges trailers in shipping yards foroptimumloading patterns.\n\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training & Experience):\nEducation: High school diploma or G.E.D.preferred but notrequired.\n\nExperience: At least 2 years of professional driving experienceoperatinga tractor-trailer or other heavy commercial vehicle.\n\nLICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:\nRequired: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), held for a minimum of 2 years.\n\nAdditional Certifications: While notrequired, candidates with certifications relevant to warehouse management,logistics, or safety are encouraged tosubmitthem for consideration.\n\nKNOWLEDGE,SKILLSAND ABILITIES:\nKnowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.\n\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.\n\nAbility to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.\n\nAbility to plan, direct,superviseand coordinate the work of subordinates.\n\nAbility to take and follow directions fromsupervisor.\n\nAbility to give directions to and gain compliance from assigned staff.\n\nAbility to perform other duties as assigned.\n\nAbility tomaintaingood planning and organizational skills.\n\nAbility tomaintaina good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.\n\nRequired tocomply withall Imperative Logistics' policies and procedures.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:\nWork is performed outside having a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements,such as:fumes, smoke or gases, dust, grease, and oils. Work involves rotating shifts and working extended workdays outside the regular working hours andon-call. Capable of working closely with others, and with moving objects or vehicles in an excessive noisy environment. Exposure to unknown and dangerous conditions. Work requires straight pulling, simple and dual simultaneous grasping, standing, sitting, crouching, twisting, pushing, stooping, reaching above shoulders, climbing stairs, walking, carrying over 45 pounds, and moderate lifting over 45 pounds.
